Carlton Offer O'Keefe 1.5 Millon

I guess no one thinks it possible O'Keefe's management get the rumours out there that the big clubs are chasing him to push his price at Sydney up.

That one hasn't been done before has it.

Oh woops I forgot this is Bigfooty.

Ahh **** it Carlton are cheating the cap again, I mean the AFL rightfully smashed them 6 years ago - they have had a chance with Visy and Judd yet nothing has come of it.

WTF is going on!!! The same man who led the investigation also led the one into Visy and Judd!

WTF is going on!!! :( Why haven't Carlton been caught yet?

I wonder who told Channel 10 Carlton had offered him 1.5...yeh Carlton people are going to inform them. O'Keefes management would have no interest in informing channel 10 of another clubs big offer.

I'd give up pick #6 for him.

Pick 6 is a poison chalice of a pick.

Go back over the last 10 years or more and it's not thrown up anything outstanding that's for sure.

Offer it up for the best deal out there I say.

From 2000 onwards - decent to good picks

Sampi, Salopek, Tom Williams.

Probably a 50% success rate.

I only rate Salopek out of those players.

Williams looks good but needs to have a few injury free seasons under his belt.

I think i'd take 3 good years of ROK over the quality of players taken at pick 6.

Do I really need to know how much they are being paid? It seems obvious that there is something fishy going on if your club can fork that sort of money out along with Fevs and the Mercenaries contract.
awwww Fireman Ken Wood just OK'ed the Judd deal with Visy.

Give him a call and tell him he's wrong! Carlton are cheating again!

In those 3 years we might not have reached our premiership window. If we had finished top 5 I'd go after RoK but we aren't good enough to do that. We still need to build our list with youngsters.

If you trade high picks thinking you're closer than you are and it backfires (ie you don't win a flag) then you're stuffed because your depth is up shit creek.

Here comes the hawks arrogance.... "too crap at recruiting, so they go the soft option"... screams of "look at us, we drafted well, yes? look at us!"

Yes, it was terribly hard to pick players when you had top 10 picks as far as the eye could see (1,2,3,5,7 in differing years IIRC) Any fool (cept freo/tigers) could pick good players that early in the draft. recruiting a gun player a soft option? give it a rest.

Dont you love it how some people have NO idea about their clubs history even though they call themselves supporters.

pick 6 is a poison pick?

Let's give it away right now

Let's give it away for Jason Laycock

Problem solved.

Happy?

Murray Vance
Damien Cupido
Dylan Smith
Ashely Sampi
Steven Salopek
Kepler Bradley
Tom Williams
Beau Dowler
Mitchell Thorp

Not enough class there to warrant not looking at trading it away for the right deal.

I personally rate O'Keefe very highly. If they do get him I don't know how they are doing it but good on them.
They are going to be a real dangerous force in the next couple of years.

You reckon he suits the navy blue?

Already looks like he has a big head in that jumper!

We did trade players to get picks 1 and 7 listed above - a little different than getting them for finishing last (Which we also did for a year or two)

They have the room easily. When Murphy/Kreuz/Gibbs etc want more cash Juddy will be only getting 400k or abouts as he is putting 1.2 million in the cap now. Fev Vets list. Softy Stevo will be gone or on significantly less cash. Smart managment by the Blues.

However they will find it harder to get deals done for players if they are being stingy at the trade table.

Actually Hawthorn never finished last, unlike Carlton.

Hawthorn's "bottom-out" = 2 priority picks, in consecutive years, but no spoons.

Carlton's "bottom-out" = 5 priority picks in 6 years and 3 spoons.
