Carlton Player's Career at the Crossroads

is it also attached to the story that he didn't show for a morning session?

i have one of those footy cards from the chip packets with Fevola on it. I have it on my wall at work, stcuk with a magnet. When he does something stupid i put the magnet over his face and then move it when he is forgiven. It's amazing how many times the magnet sits over his face.

he missed the mornin session because he was gettin scans on his shoulder, groin and fingers, theres proof of it as he was on 10 news.

lol you have too much time on your hands

Was reported in the Age this AM as well.

He missed a meeting Yesterday morning and had some scans, Icke was yet to speak with him regarding Sunday evening.
Just hope he didn't verbal some legends of the club again.

get of his back and leave him alone can the man have a drink in peace without it being in media the next day...big f. . .

No one is doubting that he wasn't allowed to drink. It's the rumour that he was out afterwards, past curfew time, and roudy.

FFS, he's out for the year, limping and going under the knife Thursday. Try not to get over-excited kiddies.

No need to be patronising AD.
His track record is deplorable, and seriously, how many chances do we give him. From what I can gather, he was on thin ice before this "incident". This could be the straw that broke the camels back.

If the coach says to all the players to arrive in at a certain time of the night, why should any players think they're above that and stay out later? Poor attitudes like that filters through a team, creating rifts and seperating the players, ie "If he can do that and get away with it, why can't it?"... Not the sort of mentality we want our young kids to be around, and definitely not the sort of environment either.

Sure let him drink. We've seen what he's like as a bloke and a footballer without it (2006), and we've seen what he is like as a bloke and a footballer whilst he has a few drinks (pre-2006, 2007 pre-season etc etc). Can anyone else see a common denominator here?

As long as he didn't end up in jail or start belting taxi drivers with their aerials, I have no problem with him drinking, because it won't be affecting his on-field performances now, will it?

So you've got no problem whatsoever with the guy employing that mentality that we've seen so often that he's bigger than the team?

As far as I can tell, the only thing that he's possibly done wrong, was that he was out past curfew, which we don't know for sure

Fev's not playing footy again for about 8 months. Who cares if he stays out a bit late at the end of his season. Or is he meant to lock himself away for another 2 weeks until the season finishes for everyone else. No big deal IMO. :)

It is no big deal. Except that he went against team orders and rules that were asked of the team for that night.

Simple instruction, hard to follow it seems.

Just one instruction, I dont see why it was so hard for him not to follow it. Go home and kiss his daughters goodnight and then put on a film.

Unless of course, he was directly told that seeing as his season is over, he did not have to follow team rules for that night? Perhaps he was exempt?

Who knows. Either way, I'd like to think Fev will get his backside into grear next season.... keep it clean off the field :)

After Kouta's testimonial on Sunday night, a certain player went out afterwards against team instructions and stayed out very late. The player was massively intoxicated , and apparently made a bit of a fool of himself. The coach wasn't happy at all and told the players as a result that that player's career is at the crossroads...

3AW named the player as Brendan Fevola. If true, which I can say that most of it is (that he was out later than instructed to be and was intoxicated), I am disgusted with the guy's behaviour. Fair enough his season is over but a team instruction is exactly that, a TEAM instruction, everyone in the team follows that instruction.

All along I have been saying Fev at Carlton for life and I keep persisting with my beliefs that we need him at Carlton for the rest of his career and that trading him would be stupid. I always defend the bloke. But things like this continue to happen and it seems like there is only so many times I can defend him.

****.

I saw 1 or 2 others that could hardly walk, but most of them were fine.

I was at the function on Sunday and let me tell you the bloke is a di(khead
and I liken him to Casino Chips...in that we need to cash him in before we do our balls, the bloke will never change, or at the very best change when its too late to trade him alla Lance.

..

I guess so, but do you really think that rule makes sense for a player who's season has ended? Who knows what the exact circumstances were, but I'm willing to cut Fev a bit of slack on this one. :)

Seems to be a lot being said based on rumour innuendo and perceptions does anyone here actually know the FACTS..........?

Precisely just a waste of time. Fev is a match winner and will only be replaced with an equal value player or two young guns with good potential type - Grigffin & Higgins.

Ciao

Oh come on....his season's over let him have a drink...wait till he has an awesome preseason and then kicks ten in round 1....all will be forgiven...how can we possibly recruit all these gun mid fielders and then trade fev they'll be no bas...d to kick the goals

Why not? He looked like he had turned the corner after his suspension and since Ratts has come in, and really convinced me he wanted to be at Carlton next year, and then he goes and does something stupid like this.

So you know that he did this do you ?
Were you there ?
Did you see it happen ?
Or is all this pure speculation with out any basis in fact ?
