Just some snippets from Ratts press conference and a few other things from training today
He says:
- Good to be back
- A lot of things that ve happened sicne end of season help things to looking up
- Time for excuses are over
- Wants team to sustain effort throughout game, so massive emphasis on fitness over pre season
- Will see a lot more competeative Carlton from next year on.
- Dont have to worry about the Kouta / Pagan saga as neither are at the club anymore, and either are any of the issues in question
- Just having Judd around is a massive boose for the players..
- Thinks its the turning point of the Club. The dark years are behind us.
- Has spoken to Judd re his groin. Judd says rehab going well
- Decision or captaincy wont be made until befoire start of season 2008
- Doesnt know what number Judd will wear
- Judd will be in leadership group, and from the leadership group of 6, a captain will be picked.
- Ratts said Bryce Gibbs wont be part of leadership group this year, as thinks Leadership group of 12 was too big last year.
- Getting Judd was an important step towards getting the 'Carlton arrogance' back.
- Focus is Round 1, so NAB Cup not as big a focus as it was in the past.
Also about 300 people were at Carlton to watch Judd, did some light work skills, light kicking, handballs etc. Was rapt with the turn out of fans to see him, there is a buzz right through the group at PP.
