Reading between the lines we are going tall.

Done homework on multiple talls.

“Getting ahead of the draft” means ensuring something we need, but may have trouble getting (due to Campo bids)

We have a few “needs”, but key depth/developing is essential and there are questions over those we have currently on the list.

Marchbank
Martin 3 rd tall maybe
S.Durdin
Akuei
also Mirkov

Not beyond possibility all of the above don’t go on for next year, certainly a number of them will be gone.

Young has not come on as we would like.
Lemmey needs to start stepping up, and best position still work in progress.

Do we go with the known in McMahon or one of the state leaguers we have done some work on?

Zac’s game forward with the other options should be adequate.
Cez back completes the midfield with Elijah stepping up as necessary. Cinc as a stopper also a step forward.
Plenty of mid sized defensive options.

Talls are the hardest to get and the slowest maturing investment. JSOS will be back but we need more.

Are there any names here which would slot straight into the AFL side, or are we recruiting depth?
Hope we are looking more long term and select a younger late developing type player, over expecting instant success.
Past picks like Will Hayes and Josh Deluca didn't work out, although Deluca wasn't given a fair crack at it.

Cincotta was a shrewd selection.

Okay punters, by the end of the day we'll be welcoming another player to the navy blue.
Looks like the names we've been linked with in the media are:

  • Riley Collier-Dawkins (Williamstown VFL) - 193cm inside/outside mid
  • Liam McMahon (Carlton VFL) - 198cm forward/defender
  • Corey Ellison (Williamstown VFL) - 194cm forward/defender
  • Jack Peris (Essendon VFL) - 178cm small forward
  • Remy Maclean (Box Hill VFL) - 200cm forward

Closest to the pin. Who would you like us to select (even a name not on the list) - and who you think we'll select.

I'll open the batting.
Who I'd like us to select: Saad El-Hawli - outside mid, speed to burn, goalkicker.
Who I think we'll take: Riley Collier-Dawkins.
Who I'd like us to select: Caleb Ernst or Saad El-Hawli
Who I think we'll take: Corey Ellison

Happy with whoever we take, Austin and Co have more information than any of us.

Will Hayes was robbed. He was a very good footballer IMUO.

I think they’ll go big. Get ahead of the draft and get a project KPF coz most of our picks will get Campo-ed.

I like Ben Hopkins personally. Kade Simpson type. Quick as, runs all day and is a leader.

They did say the draft is going to be mid heavy. So going tall in the msd makes sense as the quality talls will be gone before we get to pick.

I reckon we know who we are picking, are almost certain they will be available, and are primarily focused on the long term rather than short-term depth. Seems to be the vibe.

A good young key defender out of the state leagues would make sense. It's a need and you can normally find them even later in the draft or with rookie picks.

From limited viewing…

McLauchlan Saad Beeken as the small.medium quick types, first 2 likely gone, 3rd probably not what we’ve stated in looking for…

I’m also in the camp of grabbing a young KPP to develop, there’s a few on the list that seem to have a bit of upside in them, list wise in desperate need of a couple…
