Caro gives mild criticism of Tigers

Funny thing is, Caro and her Bosses are probably keeping their left eye on this thread and other similar threads...

One question, is BigFooty the most 'accessed/populated/most posted' website concerning AFL?

Caroline Wilson's prominence in the football community is a classic example of the benefits of being well connected. With pro affirmative action practioners like Bruce McAvaney and Tim Lane in her corner, Caroline's sphere of influence on the thinking of footy fans eveywhere is miles out of proportion. Put simply, CW is not a football writer. Can anyone recall the last time she made comment on Adelaides forward line? Or Geelongs ruck situation? Put in the occasional situation on the Monday night show when Bruce forgets himself and asks her a legitimate football question she flounders embarrasingly. In Caroline Wilsons world the biggest subjects on the minds of the footy public are the comings and goings of club CEO's/board members/assistants coaches/football managers et al. .

Beautifully said ac, I get so bored with her articles about football politics, the movers and shakers and struggling club's financials. Shouldn't such an ace football writer be able to write about the actual game of football occasionally.

Here in Adelaide we only hear from her on Talking Footy on Channel 7. Personally I find her well spoken and horribly well informed. I hope she never develops the contacts at Port Adelaide that she obviously has at Melbourne, St Kilda and carlton (amongst others). They can't fart there but she knows about it and then reports it.
While she is filleting other clubs I'm a big fan. Also given that she (like me) is no longer 17 I think comments about her appearance have to be kept in context. Personally I find her attractive physically. If she ever wanted to meet 1 on 1 in a quiet little motel where for foreplay we made fun of a series of Victorian clubs I'd be in it for sure.

Im suprised that from that whole article you chose to highlight an almost insignificant paragraph within the context.

I found it more amusing that Neale Daniher doesnt even know where his club functions are.

My friends who attended the function where the Kooyong story came from tell me they believe that it was a joke that Daniher used to start his speech to a group of supporters (also told they were very passionate).

Caro is dumb as dog***** so she couldn't work that one out. Instead she used it quite malevolently to introduce her article.

As Daniher pointed out, the emphasis of her article should have been about the state of the majority of the AFL clubs in Melbourne that are struggling financially and not just Melbourne because it's in the news at the minute. Quite frankly there is very little difference between Melbourne and Richmond except that the Demons are going to the AFL for $1m and Richmond got the dough from Clinton Casey.

And if you read the article properly that is what she said!!

None of like negatives on our clubs, but this one is pretty much on the money

CW is a top line reporter who earns the wrath of supporters by finding out things they do not want to hear.

She gets things wrong occassionally and should be criticised for that but she gets a hell of a lot more right than wrong.

Taking cheap shots at her because she is female is pathetic. Attack the writing not the person.

And if that is the message she meant to get across then why the headline about the Demons being in the grip of despair and why is she so easy on the Tigers in comparison to how she attacks Melbourne and the Kangaroos?

I hate to tell you guys, but that's her job!

I've heard her say that she prefers to concentrate on the area she knows best - off-field stuff, and leave the on-field analysis to the 'experts' likes Walls, Watson, Brereton etc.

I'm sure if she actually did comment on on-field stuff you'd probably have a go at her because 'what would she know about playing football?'

She covers the area she knows best and she does it quite well.

the Kooyong thing was a joke by Daniher, and a funny one at that

what Caro the Hoe has done has taken something that someone said as a joke and COMPLETELY LIED ABOUT IT, making it out as if the coach didnt know where the funtion was

She should be sacked if you ask me

Hmm. And the difference between Melbourne and North two years ago was that Melbourne had someone throwing dough at them and North did not, so we got lots of that special Caro attention and Melbourne did not.

She's writing in a newspaper. She will focus on the club that's in the news - or she'll put it in the news if there's enough going on to make that club stand out at the moment as being in more trouble than the others. The newspaper will be wrapping chips today, as they say - so your only worry is anything she wrote that is true and needs to be turned around for your club's longterm health. My advice from long experience would be to get mad then forget it, and focus on helping your club stabilise so she has less to write about.

Good luck to the Demons - hope you get some breaks and make the most of them.

More people than you obviously realise

Why don't they become members then? At the end of the day, the tales of doom and gloom at Carlton last year flushed out supporters who became members. Same happened with Hawthorn eight years ago. What is it with Melbourne supporters? Are they responding to articles such as these with their feet and buying memberships? Or do they simply choose to shoot the messenger who brings the bad news?

The problem can't be laid solely at the feet of the MCC - otherwise the stories of the supporters being a bunch of silvertails must be true.

The only differnce between Richmond and Melb is that Melb is just further advanced along the same path.

Funny to read that Richmond are being kept aflaot due the genorosity of their prez. Sounds like Melb a few years back! That said can't see the Tiges becoming as bad as the 'Dees' as tige fans have some passion.

"Beefcake" Connolly take over the cheif sports writer spot that Australia's premier footy journo richly deserves. It's almost criminal that a man that talented has to play second fiddle.
"Beefcake" like Cartman was that time? Funny I didn't read any support coming from Princess Rowena on this topic....

So Rohan, are the rumours about you and Caro true? Heard that you two have resumed your torrid love affair. Please confirm or deny.

Whats the matter ramma? Would've thought the image of two highly attractive football identities going at it like mad dogs would turn you on.
