had Vigor at very very long odds (as most of you know been following this for a long time) and was very happy it ran into third. got it e/w at 151, 101, 51, 31 and then had a bit more of in today.

First Command was my only winner of the day (so far) but had a fair crack at it along with hot danish which hurt.

Think i had 5 over places and am on Jaalippy for the last. Form behind Velocitia is good and Neroli (who lost to Velocitia) ran a good race today so it should be close enough.

R1 - Rachine - third run in australia after a good first 2 runs looks ready to win here. Nothing, got stuck three wide and then got a bit of a check when it was trying to run into it I will continue to folow.

R2 - Weasley - Ran the quickest 400 meters out of the lot of these in the race at flemington where most of these horses came from. Seems to be a bit of speed in this race which it will appreciate. Also after watching the replay it seemed to strike a bit of trouble seeing daylight into the straight and was travelling well before he got out. 2nd $2, hit the lead at the 150 and stuck on quite well was a bit unlucky not to win just got edged out late.

R3 - Valdemoro - For mine you can discount it's second run as for mine it just didn't really handle the going. Was crying out for more distance in it's last race and the 2000 should suit. Wide barrier shouldn't matter to much as it will probably go back towards the rear of the field. 2nd $2.70, got right back in running and got out when the race was all over, the winner much to good. Isn't far away from a win.

R4 - Onemorenomore - Discount last run on a bog track but before that was racing consistently in high class races up in sydney where it boxed on well behind Road to Rock and Black Piranha. A bit of value, Shamoline Warrior for mine hasn't done all that much and is probably a tad overated, that said is def. a winning chance here. A competitive race. 2nd $2.40, plan was to ride it back and have one shot at them which is what the winner did but it pulled really hard and was shaking it's head around for the first 3 furlongs settled down farly well in the end and ran on well to finish second.

R5 - Kiloton - Lightly raced 6 year old that had it's troubles in the past (injury wise IIRC) and has actually came on to be a pretty good horse. Not the strongest race and at odds may run a cheeky race. Will get in the first 6 or 7 and you can probably discount it's first up run as it doesn't seem to handle heavy grounds. 3rd $4.60, had a good drop on the leaders and a bit of a crack at them at the top of the straight but wasn't good enough to win stck it's neck out to gain 3rd and I was pretty chuffed...good odds.

R6 - Hot Danish* - Seems the bet of the day for mine. It's last run was massive for 5th and will be very hard to beat here. It's a star horse with proven form and at this class is going to be very hard to beat. 2nd $1.50. Just couldn't get past Typhoon Tracy who was way to good on the day. Hard ridden at the 600 but still stuck on pretty well. Doesn't seem to have the same turn of foot it once did.

R7 - Drumbeats - Was OK last start on a heavy track but it's win up in Sydney was one of the better ones of the Spring so far IMO. Rangirangdoo pretty much went past it before it fought back really hard to hold on. Showed it was a class horse last year when it won really well at Flemington on emirates steaks day. At $7 it's a good e/w bet for mine. 5th. Jeez, What a terrible ride by McEvoy! Had to get out of the gates quickly and try and slot in just off the pace instead takes it back to third last and 3 wide. Loomed up really well but just dropped off a bit. Terrible ride, forget.

R8 - Vigor - To be honest I really can't split this poor Caufield Cup field, i'd be all over Vigor if it drew a barrier and still will be on it as I think it could run a nice race here especially if it can jump and get across the field easy enough which for mine is about it's only option. The International Raiders hard to beat and the 7 Roman Emperor is a good chance. 3rd $5.50...OH YES! Great ride and a great horse pretty happy with this, loaded up on this since early in the year and it continues to be my most profitable horse.

R9 - First Command - Some quality horses in this race but the form of this guy is unbelievable. Will hopefully roll along in front and pinch a bit of a break on them ala Lucky Secret last week. Phelan Ready probably needs it wet to win and Eagle Falls just not quite as good as First Command? Great Race tho, hard to pick a winner 1st $2.70 finally a winner got a great ride and was held together till the top of the straight and it was good enough to hold them off..

Rapping up it ended up being a pretty profitable day despite only hitting one winner and am pretty happy.

Vigor was great as was Kiloton.
