sending multiple assets for one 'better' piece never works out well, send the kid to carlton and you might just get the number 1 pick in return. He has 'carlton midfielder' written all over him

Beams is working out pretty well for us.

Just read on the Pies board that these rankings are meaningless because the value of Crisp and De Goey is "unquantifiable".

They are seemingly just two special unicorns who play on a different metaphysical plane that renders any conventional methodology of football analysis utterly useless.

It also fails to factor in the "Beams will struggle without Pendlebury getting him the ball" and the "won't be able to handle a tag" factors.

So yeah, nothing to see here.
Also, they have not been included in the comparison. They only compared "15 of the most high-profile players to switch clubs last year" which does seem to be a little unfair from a Collingwood POV considering Crisp would probably make the top 5 if he was included on that list.

Unfair? Everyone knows the footy gods hate Collingwood. Why don't you post somewhere, where they care.

This sort of missing-the-vibe post is why we can't have nice things like banter threads. :(

Well they claim "the Lions can take early bragging rights in the deal, with the software program ranking Beams, who has played every game and averaged 29 disposals, the best recruit of 2015." - but fail to include any players that Collingwood gained in the deal. I realise we are all a little one eyed but surely you can see the problem with that analysis?

I'll be waiting with baited breath for a comparison on the 15 lowest profile players to switch clubs last year so we can claim the "bragging rights" without actually comparing players involved in the trade.

Demand that they write that article then. For extra effect, set a meaningless, unenforceable deadline for them to completely disregard.

Yes, we'll then congratulate you on getting the best no name player, who is still not ranked anywhere near the best players in the league.

What's the point of this? If there was an article on the best blue buttons in a bucket, would you claim that to be unfair to your red button, just because it's a fairly decent button?
The article was about 15 of the biggest names to switch clubs. And even then, if you included Crisp, Brisbane/Beams is the winner. At the end of the day, it all means very little. Collingwood is still further up the ladder, and Brisbane still have Beams (and the 2002 & 2003 Premierships).

I'm torn between posting that homer fading into the bushes gif or Grampa Simpson entering and exiting the Maison Derriere one.

But you guys ended up giving us the young prospect we wanted ?!
Not exactly the one you supporters wanted at the time though. "Packet of chips" wasn't it? And now you're all laughing like you pulled off the steal of the century. We all knew exactly the quality and potential of Crisp, no surprises, and we're quite happy with the deal, thanks.

Yeah and luckily our recruiter makes the decisions lol so yes we are all laughing, the Jack crisp threads are the most popular on our own boards
