Boak debuted in Round 12 of 2007, he also spent the first 2 rounds of the SANFL season in the bay ressies if memory serves. Port Adelaide were none too pleased at the time.

Remember that Boak didn't even step straight in. He spent at least the first month of '07 playing for the bays.

Was there for his first League game :D

But Boak was coming into a team that was premiership contenders

Wingard will come into a team that a 12th spot finish will mean it had a good season

He will play 18+ games

Hypothetical question for those who saw them both as juniors. If you had to pick between an 18yo Hamish Hartlett and an 18yo Chad Wingard which way would you lean. In other words, is Wingard a better player than HH was at 18?

I've got no idea, but based on their style of play (from highlights of Wingard), Hartlett reminds me of Buckley and Wingard of Wanganeen. Obviously injuries, determination, development, etc may well prevent either from reaching those heights. But they are the comparisons that come to mind most readily for those two. Hartlett obviously needs to win more ball and play more midfield time to be anywhere near Buckley's level.

I have thought about this the last couple of days and to be honest I am yet to make a decision either way. Hamish racked up possessions more than Wingard did but the way Wingard can impact a game in a short period of time would probably see me lean towards Wingard but this is splitting hairs.

After playing some sanfl last year he should be in our preseason cup squad to see if he is ready to step up.
Hardly deep analysis. Everyone on our list except Matthew Westhoff and possibly Kane Cornes will get a pre-season spot.

Edit: Whoops, no longer on our list

Had a quick chat to my sister over the weekend, found out he was a student at the College she teaches at and was in fact one of her students.

Her comments were in line with everything else we've heard - he's got a good head on his shoulders, VERY organised, and a great sportsman.

Interestingly, he attended the same college as another former first round selection we made in Tomilf.

That interview is so bad
No interesting questions, jus boring questions we all kno the answer too

That he did. I know both of them and I have to say Chad is 100x more focused than Thommo was. Adam is a great bloke but was not the most committed person unfortunately. Chad is the total opposite and thats why we should be very excited.

You mean he's totally committed but he's a shit bloke? ;)

No doubt about that, I dare say he will be having a lot of fun living the life

The club might need to put you on their payroll as part time recruiter, RED ONE, given that there's another Imperials (Murray Bridge) lad who could be up for drafting in a year or 2. Dwayne Wilson.
