This is the biggest surprise in Ken's 11 years. Maybe only surpassed by his switching to Pepsi Max this season - didn't see that coming.

It's so out of character. What's going on??

Josh Carr is also responsible for the sugar free beverage procurement.

I must admit that hate mac & cheese too ... I love an al dente pasta though, with a rich sprinkling of Pecorino Romano cheese!:thumbsupv1:

Like a good chef, you need to re-imagine the stale old classic into a gourmet dish. If McEntee keeps the same trajectory of progress going, he will be a real star in 2 years time. McKenzie is another that come to mind ... someone that was dumped on, but is now our best-22 backman.

Big footy users: "NOTHING HINKLEY HAS DONE IN HIS 11 YEARS AS A COACH INDICATES THAT HE'D EVER BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO DROP JONAS"

jonas is dropped

big footy users: "THAT PROOVES ITS NOT HINKLEY"
Fixed that for you, and yes, correct.

This is all falling into place brilliantly, Kenny's coaching stocks are at an all time high which will allow him to resign with dignity to get the gig at the Suns where he belongs. I hope the club has stitched up a deal with Carr so Richmond can't poach him in the meantime.

This is the correct call. As others have said, it doesn't seem like a Hinkley call, but tell you what, if it is Donuts then well done to him.

Need a time machine and to just jump forward to the finals now because I'm not going to be convinced on anything until the end of September but things seem positive so far.

Sorry Cap, Tommy, TJ, ToughNuts, Thomas, Rostrevor Trevor, Mr J, SlowPoke, Tiny Backman, Gaff Whacker, Teej, Yonus, but Daddy's got a contract to win. Off to Snaffle you go, son!

Good opportunity to bring Sinn in and Pasini in. Mead needs a full run and should go back to the SANFL. Id play Narkle as the sub. VFL is a standard above the SANFL and I’d imagine having done a pre-season with Richmond he’s good to go.

I want to see Finlayson/Dixon main ruck and drop Lycett instead.

Basically ensures that we have 3 good forward talls at all times.
Lycett has been good the last two weeks and deserves to stay in but just as importantly I don't want Dixon being used as a ruck, we need to get games back into him but without risking banging up his body more than needed.

Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas has been overlooked for AFL selection this week despite being available.
Jonas will play in the SANFL in his return from his second suspension of the season.
Coach Ken Hinkley said on Thursday it was a big call but Jonas knew the decision was good for him to get some form.
Hinkley could not guarantee it would be just a one-week SANFL stint for the Power captain, saying it would come down to how the veteran and the AFL side played.“It’s a significant call, but it’s a call of a team that’s in good form,” said Hinkley, whose side was on an eight-game winning streak.
“We’re in really good form, Tom’s missed a bit of footy now over the last month.
It is now clear Hinkley ain’t in charge, rather is now a figurehead. This would never have happened in the past 10 years.

The captain playing SANFL and the coach cheerleading on the bench.

This was the plan all along guys.
I will say if Koch and the board decided 2023 was a transitioning year but we couldn't tell the world that it would be Hinkley's last year, Josh Carr would be making the decisions, Hinkley would be a boundary rider, the younger guys would run the team and the older guys would be phased out, even the captain, than I would say they are doing a really bloody good job.

Let's not kid ourselves, the whole plan changed after Tredrea made his comments.

Ive noticed on a couple of occasions that Todd's performance after a layoff has been down on expectation.
I would rather see him play a half of SANFL, get pull off (!!!) and then resume AFL the following week.
