The problem for Buku is unless Marra or Nuaghts go down or swap positions sadly there isn't a spot for him
100% agree, he is in good form of late but there isn’t really a spot for him, unless you play him out of position. You could possibly play him in that Lobb role but question is can he sustain being a backup ruck

Yeah that is the issue,

B Smith played a fair game against Essendon at Marvel last year, but didn't have a great track record against them before that. Hopefully he's pumped, and has a night out.

Why is Smith underdone?
I was going to ask that too - he only missed one game after all - but I think the concern in Smith’s case is that he might not have fully recovered.

“Underdone” not quite the right word in his case.

Yeah not underdone, but may not be 100%. Sounds like he's had the flu or something for a week plus which can take a pretty physical toll. No doubt the club know where he is at though.

Doesn't sound like JJ is back this week. In that case Williams to Stringer, Gallagher to the wing
Out: Mcniel, JOD, Darcy, Duryea
In, B.Smith, Gallagher, Buku, Cleary

No need to call them anything.

The problems start when we criticise the poster and not the post.

If a few posters are clowns or campaigners it’s best to ignore them as you’re probably not going to get a worthwhile discussion out of them anyway.

I reckon the vast majority here are worth engaging with.
I have been called many things on this forum, and justifiably so! I don’t have an issue with someone called me a d**khead because I am 30-40% of the time.

This club has a habit of causing mental breakdowns (particularly with Bevoism/Mentoneism etc) and making people say emotive things in the heat of the battle - ‘play-on’ Dogwatch, ‘play-on’ Mutt!! Don’t go all 2023 on us.

I think if the site becomes oversensored, to an extent, it will lose people. We know where the line should be drawn. No need to turn it into a grade 4 level.

Inject it into my veins. The man was so poorly treated by the club at the end.

Some of my all time favourite memories (probably because I was a kid) are from his time as coach especially 1990 win over Collingwood, v Carlton in 1991 and all of 1992 (apart from the end).

How good is that?

Great tone, content and passion.

Hope the club utilise people of his ilk.

He stood up and coached the club when the club needed him.

An opinion is like A..hole everyone has one. Does not mean everyone with an opinion is an A,,hole. In fact I do not think any bulldogs bigfooty posters are A..holes. In my time supporting the dogs by far the biggest A..holes are Carlton supporters and that is not pigs arse.

If he's had the flu, hopefully his choice to play against the Pies when he was ill leading into that game hasn't adversely impacted the rest of the team's health at this important moment in the season.

Don't agree. I think it is reasonable and not over - censorship to require people not to act like dickheads or campaigners towards others on here and if that were to be allowed people would leave as well as has already been pointed out.

It's a vexed area Fossie. I understand Brisdogs view because he is a poster of a playful, relaxed and humorous disposition and his utterances can be seen in that light. They are often lol inducing as the intent is not to humiliate.

The same utterances from snarky or humourless posters are cringe inducing and clearly intended to humiliate and/or belittle.

Rather than knowing where the line is, as Brisdog suggested, I think most recognise the intent, one way or the other.

You realise he doesn't pick himself right?
I get you dislike the kid but at least be fair.

There's a lot presumption in that Mike.

The presumption that I don't like him and the presumption that he was forthright in the assessment he gave to the medical staff. It seems likely that if he had said that he hadn't been feeling well and it would be in the interests of the team that he didn't play, then presumably the medical staff would have concurred. It seems equally unlikely that's that what he indicated. The disclosure of his Pies pre-game illness came at the pre-match presser for the Sydney game.

So, to be fair, as you seem to be suggesting I'm not, judgement or disclosure? I imagine that his team mates would want both on Friday night prime time against the competition leaders and probably every time.

And of course, my comment was hypothetical as indicated by the conditional structure. If he's had the flu (condition), it seems reasonable to consider what impact, if any, this might have had on the wider playing group (result).

Yeah what a bloody arseh*le, playing through sickness for the team!!! I heard that the medical staff said Baz no please stay home and he said **** you im playing and there’s nothing you campaigners can do about it! True story.

Would you be this critical if it was literally anybody else? 🤔 I’d be surprised. You literally don’t even know what illness he had.

Couch your terms all you like but it's obvious you have a set against Smith for whatever reason. You are now blaming him for the decisions of others. Do you honestly think his teammates (some of who he lives with) or coaches wouldn't know if he was unwell? Do you honestly think this isn't something that happens weekly?

Usually players who play through illness or injury get lauded (Michael Jordan's flu game as one of the most prominent examples) instead you want to blame a 20 year old for playing through an illness when you don't even know what he had.

Your "just asking questions " routine is tiresome and not fooling anyone.
