Should be a good test on their patch next week.

The two old men are likely to miss and who knows for how long.

I’d like to see Madden come in and have a run as I like the pace he would bring with McKenna but Joyce probably gets the nod given Carlton’s taller forward line.

Zorko’s pressure is hard to replace. I noticed Noah played in the guts when he came on so maybe he comes in and plays that pressure role and Lyons back to the sub?

So I could see it, IN: Joyce & Answerth (Lyons sub). OUT: Rich & Zorko.

Outs- Dayne Zorko (inj), Daniel Rich (inj), Ryan Lester (omit).

Ins- Darragh Joyce, James Madden, Jaxon Prior.

I'd replace Rich with Ah Chee or Madden. Ah Chee IMO is our best small back not in the seniors. Alternatively Madden can add some speed

Zorko I'd replace with Dev or Ah Chee. Dev the closest thing we have as a like for like or alternatively Ah Chee can play wing and Berry can go on ball

It was when Rich went down last year that Coleman really came into his own. Like McCluggage, Coleman looks a bit lost and has a lack of urgency out there at times so with the extra responsibility coming his way, this will be his chance to get back to the form he showed last year.

Prior for Rich. Prior is ok defensively and provides a bit more run than Rich, and I would’ve thought given the run of games he’s had up to now would be next in line.

Dev for Zorko as a mid forward that is defensive.

It will be interesting to see if Lester holds his spot and so is preferred over Joyce, or if Joyce was being rested.

I do like Lohmann but he hasn't shown enough consistently at reserves level this season, others in front of him at the moment IMO.
In other cases I'd agree but not Madden's imo, the idea of Madden is a lot more than what he provides currently. I'm probably a little too biased towards Lohmann as I think he will be a gun and has been a little better in the last couple games. Dev is probably a better like for like positionally and I'd like to see him get his chance with a few CBA's as well so maybe just a straight swap with Zorko.

Haven't seen Ah Chee mentioned all that often. He's next choice for small back or forward imo.
I thought Prior played pretty well when he filled in across half back, don't think there's much between them defensively and Prior adds a bit more going forward imo. Age, potential and size probably in his favor as well.

Depends what the criteria for selection is... either demonstrated ability previously at senior level or is it form in the reserves, Ah Chee has been unimpressive in the reserves.

I am not totally against Ah Chee coming in though.

Ah Chee's played better than Prior at Senior level just about every time imo. In fact I think he's a lot better all round.

I also think Fort's better than Gunston on present form

We all know what Gunston can do , we keep hearing the players and coach talk him up. Like to see him do it.

Just realised this is a Friday night stand alone game, will be a great spectacle and atmosphere, we should be well and truly up for this game, similar to the Demons and Magpies games.

Prior was excellent last time as Rich’s replacement.

Ah Chee can play Zorko’s forward minutes plus wing - Berry goes in to the middle. Perfect week for him to do so v Carlton’s bigger midfield

Robertson, Prior & Fort

Out
Rich, Zorko, Gunston
That's what I'd do to although wouldn't be against Cal Ah Chee getting a game. Gunston has been more average than I thought, I know hes got 6 goal but when he doesnt have the ball, he offers nothing.

I doubt I'll be confident against Blues after there big win. They'll be full of confidence thanks to WCE giving them a training run, doubt we can stop Curnow and there quick defence of Saad and Doc is concerning.

The stand alone games on Thurs or Fri nights still give me nightmares - they shouldnt seeing as we beat Dees and Pies, but they were both at home. I guess aside from that away final win against Dees last year, I am struggling recalling who we beat away on the centre stage?
