Don't know where he gets that idea from. I suggest a random poll of Sydney fans would have 99.99% barracking for the Eagles. Hard!

There's a mutual respect between a lot of Swans fans and Eagles fans that is glaringly absent between Swans and the arrogant Hawks.

Please please PLEASE smash those arrogant f***s.

It CAN be done. We did it as underdogs in 2012 and I can promise you, it's the best feeling in the f***ing world.

2014 was horrible for us, but I can honestly say it still wasn't enough to erase the ecstatic joy of 2012.

Do it!!! And have a smile on your face for the rest of your days!!

Can't believe we're in the granny :)

TBH, even if we lose I'm stoked with our year and the future is bright.

Hope we can do it on the big day.

For me, sub is between Ellis and Cripps, really hard decision. Rosa and Hutchings were huge against Hawks last time, hard to give them the vest.

Watched the VFL granny replay on 7mate last night (showing in perth). Box hill hawks had 16 afl listed players so i assume they train with afl boys. They were cooked at half time when Williamstown ( stand alone) over ran them easily

I think we will go in unchanged, including the sub. There is going to be so much nervous energy running through the guys, Ellis, Butler and wellingham are all going to be crucial in settling us down, and running through the backline will help to slow the play down if the hawks get a quick start. Masten will be important for his run, but if he's 95% only, I would be starting rosa.

I heard on Access all areas the doubts they listed about us, how we wouldn't want to concede the 1st three to the hawks, like we did north. Nothing was really mentioned of the fact that the hawks were a whisker of doing the same thing, if Mayne didn't miss that easy chance, and they didn't get that soft free to get them going. (FWIW, Ballantyne is an idiot for even trying what he did, but that's a discussion for another thread). You don't want to give an opposition a head start, but the hawks will find it much harder to chase us down than freo if they gave us the same start. We score much more easily than they do.

This is the most bullish ive been on us all year, its been a fantastic year and I hope we can bring it home. :)

Got unreasonably excited about Hawks fans suggesting hale should go out for Gunston. Would leave McEvoy one out in the ruck with Roughie helping out. Would be loading up on the Nic Nat norm smith if that was the case

Mate, you are going to smash us in the ruck whether Hale plays of not. If you are confident of a win, then NicNat would be an astute Norm Smith bet. McEvoy can't jump, but is excellent around the ground and has a massive (although one-paced) engine but he can't match your boy in the middle or at the clearances. Hale is shot and very lucky to be getting a game. Clarkson will take two rucks in though but Ceglar hasn't done enough at Box Hill to displace Hale which is a great shame as he would have been a better option in any sort of form at all. This means that NicNat has this one on his terms...shit, I might even talk myself into having a few dollars on him for the Norm Smith. It could at least pay for me to drown my sorrows should the Hawks lose.

IMHO, Rosa is a poor choice for a sub. His big weapon is his running capacity... which only becomes relevant if he plays throughout the game. The sub is best suited to burst players.

I agree , i think Rosa did a good job playing in the guts v Hawks in the QF so i want him to start on the ground. For sub...well it is a hard choice but i think Masten might be the one they might go with. He managed to run out 3/4 of a game so he should be fine if needs to come on early if we have a player go down. Another option is Ellis but his leadership out there will be important.

I hope to see plenty of Yeo 3rd man up in forward stoppages. They're going to be putting so much work into Naitanui and Shuey at stoppages Yeo could get a free run - did a good job of it early last week.

As good as thread as any but has the club said what they'll do if it's a draw?

Surely we stay in Melbourne for the week. Flying 6,000km for 3 or 4 days at home is surely not worth it.....
