There's something about him atm that irks me. Perhaps "disposal efficiency" wasn't the correct stat to emphasize my point. Maybe it's clanger, maybe it's turnover. What I'm saying is, whenever there's a one-on-one contest, this generally results in advantage to opposition.

Anyway, Maynard rest - Quaynor debut.
This is a joke post, surely. He was easily one of our best on friday night, pin point passes and raking left foot kicks to the wing. He’s irked me over the journey but talk of dropping him THIS year is hilariously bad.

I think you might be getting confused with another player. Maynard is a beast 1v1, was brilliant on Friday night

The good news is that David Attenborough will be doing commentary
"It now appears the alpha male Magpies are picking apart the blue carcass. Unlike some of their more robust prey this one is withered and has very little substance. This is more like a joy kill rather than something that demonstrates the real power of the group. You would not normally see the laughter and playful pulling apart of a rivals bones if a more substantial enemy had been defeated. Still these birds do still seem to be greatly enjoying themselves."

Not sold on three talls at Collingwood in the slightest. We’ve landed on a winning formula and whenever we’ve been beaten over the past 12 months it’s in the midfield so that’s where we need to tinker.

If Reid or Cox were as mobile as a Darling or Mihocek then we could make it work, but they’re not. Also anyone that saw Cox at Post Malone last week will know he’s right to go fitness wise.

Out: Reid and Adams
In: Aish and Cox

Aish roles to defence and Greenwood runs with Walsh. Wills and Wells the other two of consider.

Where do people think Mayne fits in terms of the best 22. His workrate seems to be immense around the ground. Or have guys like Sier pushed him out?
I think he should be depth, Sidebottom and Phillips are better wingers and Mayne can’t play anywhere else.

In a David Attenborough voice:

And this, is when the animal is at his most dangerous.

After hibernating for months, hungry and disturbed in sleep by the blues, the bear awakens.

He’s a fearsome sight.

Look at him, menacing, angry, hungry and now he’s noting prey.

He spots his dinner.

Some food to gorge, a quick Cripps now to replenish him, them onto the blues hunt.

Thomas crunched and eaten, Walsh devoured, the Bear is on the loose.

What a magnificent creature is the great Collingwood Bear.

The scientific name is Braydenous Sierous, a big nasty Bear.

Jones out with concussion, do you play both Cox and Reid to maximise it?

Wait....what?

I used to be the biggest Maynard hater on this board and even I think your post is crazy talk.

I think loyalty and commitment to a cause is admirable. Langdon and Maynard haters have every right to stick to their barnacled guns and regularly call for their axing on the flimsiest of justifications.

Would prefer to tag SPS, he cut us up a couple of years ago just take him out of the game please Levi

I tossed up between those two and the only reason I went Walsh is because I know what I’m going to get from him and I’m not there yet with SPS!

It probably also depends on what we plan to do with Cripps. If Pendles goes with him then there’s no role for Greenwood in the midfield which changes the dynamic entirely.

In that case it’s Varcoe for Adams instead of Aish. Unfortunately until we know whether we’re stuffing around with our forward structure or not it’s almost impossible to pick the change/s.

Well, we’d better be switched on from before the first bounce. Cripps has already thrown down the challenge to himself and his team for an immediate lift. What a scalp the Pies would be. In normal terms and right now. I hope we break their collective will. Snap them in half!

Out: Maynard (Omitted), Adams (Injured)

In: Quaynor, Wells

For me, Maynard to have a rest in the 2's this week. Great player and all. but recently his disposal efficiency and poor positioning is giving me the shits.

Quaynor, 2nd BOG last VFL match and should be rewarded with a debut against a weak Carlton outfit.

Wells to come in (also in the bests last VFL match). Would like to see him play ones before he breaks down again.

Cox to rest another week.

Lol please, lets be fair dinkum here. Maynard is one of the best small defenders in the comp and gave S.Gray a bath on Friday night. So far from getting dropped it ain't funny.

If Cox is good to go.
Cox for Adams.
Sidey +Brown to the inside. WHE to spend more time on Sidey's wing.
Keep the forward structure the same, but try to make a rotation work whereby we rarely have all 3 tall forwards on at once with Reid to be a swingman who also covers Moore and Roughhead's spells on the bench.

Post Malone? Is that a night club or something?

Could always send elite tagger Treloar to Walsh!
If we can get on top of SPS, Cripps, McKay and Curnow I can't see how they possibly win. Stopping Cripps is pretty much impossible unless you're Scott Pendlebury of course.

Aish on Fas. Both similar size and speed and Aish can mark overhead well at times.
Don't think Fas will play

The replacement for Adams would logically be either Varcoe to allow De Goey/Thomas/Brown more time on the ball, or if good to go, Aish, and if not Quaynor, to allow Greenwood more time on the ball

Carlton are all over the media this morning taking responsibility and apologising to their supporters. We had better not take them lightly and I’m sure we won’t as they’ll be looking to atone.

But how many times have we seen Carlton all over the media because of their poor performance, and yet they still have a record of 34 losses out of their last 39 games.
They will be missing vital players, who hold their side together mentally on the field, such as Simpson and Kruezer, and also their best defender in Jones.
