Cameron has kicked about two goals all season. He’s a terrible option to play as a marking forward. Any of Howe, WHE, Frampton or Krueger would be better replacements for McStay than Cameron.

Cameron’s marking is finally back to that of earlier in the year. That’s the key to him kicking more goals.

I thought Reef was still injured, he's an interesting proposition. If we aren't confident Kreuger can get through the game, I think McInness is the best option when he's combined with our current ruck combo.

The more I think about it, the less I like the idea of bringing in Frampton. Kreuger's the most logical on paper, but it's fraught with danger. He had a decent run in the VFL, but he copped a pretty innocuous knock to the shoulder in the last regular game of the season that ruled him out of the game, could easily see that happening again and forcing us to sub early.

Reef’s only 2cms smaller than McStay and 4cms taller than Howe, but he’s struggled to make any real impact at the top level to date. He had some great games in the back half of the VFL year though. Hard decision!

Wish Ollie had stayed 🫠
I wish AJ wasn’t injured!!

Harris had 4 possessions in first half. So not sure your memory is great
I watched Harris destroy our forwards.

He impacted 80% of our forward entries

We could end up playing Frampton as sub and go with Cox forward, changing with Cameron. Insert Frampton in the last quarter. If we really just want someone to provide a contest then we should go with freddy
I’m playing all the options around in my head and don’t like any of them.. Howe needs to stay back.

Frampton isn’t a forward. It’s by far his worse position. Feel it’s not worth it just for his height.

Kreuger was playing ok in vfl, but it’s a big call and lacks match fitness. Reef playing well but has been injured and isn’t really a tall.

I think just go smaller with WHE and checkers. Not ideal but better than the other options IMO.

Cox forward would be ok if not for his centre work being so important…

I just think he's dopey and is continuously a couple of steps off reacting quickly enough. Take the risk on Kreuger or play a tall down and get WHE to fly in packs and if it's not working switch Howe forward. I can't see either potential opponent playing 3 tall forwards,so whilst I'd love Howe intercepting, it's a luxury we may not be able to afford.
Frampton can play fwd , back and Ruck he’s the best versatility we have, and prefect in these circumstances.

I just don't know how we'll go but after last night, I'm confident regardless

What's with David King trying to be fox footys version of kane Cornes.
Using words like trauma and massive headache to describe the injury and replacement for McStay.
Guys turned into a complete ****wit

Mate you are dreaming - Andrews was well held with virtually no influence until Howe needed to go back when Murphy was injured.
I suggest you watch the replay.

Nope. When has Krueger got through a quarter of senior level footy let alone a full game which happens to be a grand final. No freakin way! He also has fumbly hands, the very last thing you want in a grand final when even the best ball handlers are jittery. WHE is going fine as a half back/wing/half forward and there is no way he can replace a key position player against a Harris Andrews or Weitering. I've seen Frampton take good contested marks. He started the comeback against Essendon in that famous last term this year with a pack mark against Draper.

Howe is back to his best as a defender after some below par form and we don't want to change the mix we have which has seen us winning finals kicking 8 and 9 goals!!!

Because he's using it as an excuse to tip against us 3 finals in a row.

We aren’t dropping a best 23 player for a GF without a clear best 15 fit to return. If both McStay and Adams get to the line it becomes a live debate, but that’s incredibly unlikely so we aren’t shifting direction as popular as the emotive angle is on here. If we want a real discussion on his place in our best mix save it for when we bring in a Holmes/ Callaghan or when they start shoveling games down Allan’s throat. For GF week it’s a non starter.

FWIW he was big when we turned it on in the third. Make of that what you will. Me though I’m expecting he goes to Coleman or Newman next weekend.
Just out of curiosity how is it not a real discussion? Just because the trend of replacing a player we recruited doesn’t happen much?

Lipinski’s stamina is quite good, sure. But he loses every single 50/50 contest. Ginnivan could be in your best 15 and is way more hungry, wins 50/50, has good hands in tight, & is Lipinski’s equal in goal assists. I guess your point will be that Lipinski gets to more contests, which is fair but considering he is a liability in half of them and can’t lay a tackle, I see merit in replacing him with Ginnivan.

And I don’t know if Lipinski is sub material.

Hey Jen, do you have an opinion on how we cover McStay

It’s tough to say. There are options. Bring in Frampton and play forward. Kreuger? Or go smaller and then play one of the rucks forward at times and bring ginni into the 22
