Any news on why Ash Johnson seems to have fallen so hard out of favour?

Seems the obvious McStay replacement but doesn't seem to be getting a mention. Was a key player when we were at our best this year.

No

Harris destroyed us that night.

Howe not being in defence is not an option

No he didn’t, early in the third quarter he had 4 possessions and no marks!

Brisbane have Daniher and Hipwood.
Carlton have Curnow, De Koning and McKay.

Either way we need to cover two key forwards. Our small/medium defenders will have their work cut out with Bailey and Cameron.
Maybe we should aim to beat them in the midfield and increase our forward line's potency.
Frampton could ruck and we could rest DC forward, rotate them deep forward, nullify Harris Andrews/Jacob Weitering in the entire forward 50, keeping them in the goal square and letting our mosquito fleet dominate the half forward area.

Hmmm....a few hard decisions to make.

If we do play Frampton, I'll be hoping it's as a ruck rather than a forward or back.

You have to know, the coaches are human, they’re going to go with what they’ve seen that works. On evidence this season;

Frampton as a forward got him dropped after playing well as a defender and saving our arse as a ruckman.

Kreuger as a forward was miserable this year in his two attempts at a game.

Reef as a forward has been invisible other than his two goals in round 1. He averages 1.6 marks per game and 0.6 goals.

Howe as a forward yielded 3 goals against Carlton in a quarter, 2 against Geelong and 2 against Brisbane. Frampton played on Daniher which he won’t have to do next week, and was serviceable keeping him to 3 goals (we would probably take that if offered next week). He’ll be better still on Hipwood.

The coaches are going to go with the tried and tested in a GF.

Not these two in my opinion. Fly will go in with the smaller blokes.
Cameron and Cox to help out up forward.
That would be a disaster in my opinion. If we are struggling in the middle having a small forward set up is a recipe for pain.

It is essential to have height for the pressured bombs which are an essential part of a fierce, high pressure grand final.

Watching Ginnivan, Elliott and Hill flying against the Carlton or Lions defence is a depressing thought.

Cox has been at his best in the ruck so pushing him forward robs us of his presence which has been so profound in the two finals.

Has Lipinski been used as a defensive forward in the last two games against Salem and Whitfield? I think the coaches will know better how well he’s been playing his role.

If part of his secret role is sh1tting himself under pressure and kicking it directly to opposition players in dangerous positions then he's nailing it

After watching last night's spectacle from N20, I'm resigned to watching the big dance on the tellie.

I'll have my four sons with me as it's school holidays and we're gonna have a grand final party - black and white balloons and streamers, footy food, and the boys can choose three players each to win a token prize when one of their guys kicks a goal - that'll keep them interested in the actual game.

We're also going to be our own half time entertainment - 14 year old on sax, 12 year old on drums, 10 year old on bass and vocals, 9 year old on harmonica and the old man on guitar knocking out a couple of Men At Work numbers.

Looks like we'll be watching us pump the Blues so far in the other prelim

We've averaged 59pts across the first 2 finals.

I'd be shocked if that score is enough to win us the Premiership on a fine Saturday afternoon.

McStay since his return from injury has kicked 2 goals in every game bar 1.

Do the maths.

Of those outside the 22 Ginnivan is not only the one most likely to replace those 2 goals lost with us now relying on a makeshift tall forward to replace McStay it's even more critical we have the smalls at ground level to generate scores from spillage.

Cameron has kicked about two goals all season. He’s a terrible option to play as a marking forward. Any of Howe, WHE, Frampton or Krueger would be better replacements for McStay than Cameron.

How many goals has Krueger scored?

Defeated by your own argument. LOL
