To me, playing Frampton as a forward because he's able to play other roles if things aren't going well is picking a team to lose less badly.Yep - it’s all about Billy’s versatility that puts him ahead of Kreuger.
This post needs to be repeated hourly. It seems most Collingwood supporters lose all sense of objectiveness when it comes to Krueger. Cameron Cloke had shown more up to this point of his career than Krueger.Careful of optimism bias here - the sense that something that you haven’t seen must be oh so much better than something you have.
Krueger is 24 years old and has only played 9 games total of AFL football for a total return of four goals, FOUR!!.
For six of his games he was either subbed off (4) or subbed on (2). For context he has played the same number of full AFL games - siren to siren - as Aiden Begg. Or Harvey Harrison.
Of course emerging players have gotta come in sometime. But not for a Grand Final they don’t, especially when there are other more experienced, battle hardened players available. Who have experience playing against Brisbane. Who are also tall. And who also have kicked goals.
Apology for posting on your grand final post. Personally i think you are good enough, entertaining and well coached that it would be a football shame if there was any odorous smell of the type i posted on the port site:
Last quarter counted 6 infringements to gws players which could have been free kicks to 1 for collingwood. The video just imo highlights the obvious frees that could/should halve been paid. I think that in finals/grand finals the saying is that umpires put the whistle away generally. But in this finals they to have seemed to put the whistle away for one team and not the other. How can you account for this, noise of the crowd, home ground advantage, human error by the closet umpire, inexperienced umpire in a final, had vision restricted by fly in eye, sun glare, somebody from the crowd flashed one of those ray thingee into the umpires eye at that exact moment, the spittle from an enraged collingwood supporter hit them in the face, had an anxiety attack.
The proud collingwood football club is good enough with its huge and passionate supporter base to win on the talent, effort and desire the team brings without anything else.
When a football figure like Luke hodge does not hold back re the above there could be reason to pause of how you would like to celebrate the grand final win of 2023

This is Sean Rusling part 2. Bringing him straight into the grand final would be a worse idea than having Ben Kinnear and Tex Walker in 03.

I watched the King's Birthday game recently and WHE played forward in that game (at times) he had lots of changes to get into the game and just didn't compete like a forward and didn't take his chances - WHE as an attacking forward is a no for me, like the idea of playing a defensive forward on Coleman - maybe that's the role for WHE or Lippa. That's what has me concerned. We will probably go small with WHE forward and maybe Frampton in defence but Frampton forward is a big no. However, perhaps we could play Frampton as a complete defensive option on Andrews, there is always a goal or 2 to be had by joe the goose handballs and the odd lead by Frampton.
Yes to be fair he actually showed something when he was healthy. Shame he was made of glass.I’d be selecting Rusling if he was available
We’ve seen him in the VFL all yearCareful of optimism bias here - the sense that something that you haven’t seen must be oh so much better than something you have.
No way, shape or form? Same height and weight. Very similar shape and form. But I never said he was as good as McSlay.Frampton is in no way shape or form is close to like for like for McStay in the forwardline. Kreuger is the only player capable of providing a similar contest up forward.
Chill out.
People are allowed to speculate on who comes in as McStay's replacement and Kreuger being the only other healthy key forward on the list is naturally going to be discussed. You don't need to crusade like this against everyone who does so.
It was a brutal contest with an enormous number of contests and tackles. If you think there were only 7 "could have been paid" frees that were let go in that last quarter, then you're wrong. Reads to me like you're just another SA nuffie biasedly carrying on about Vic bias.Apology for posting on your grand final post. Don't driveHey lads not sure where to post this but heading to the grand final parade and are from out of town, wondering where the best place to park is or is it better to get public transport
You picked the wrong fanbase to troll with this. We’ve been stiffed out of more GFs than anyone in VFL/AFL history. Carltank jointly sits atop the premiership table despite cheating the cap in ‘95. If we win we won’t be thinking about Luke bloody Hodge or your subjective opinion of a free kick count, I can guarantee you that. The proud collingwood football club is good enough with its huge and passionate supporter base to win on the talent, effort and desire the team brings without anything else.

Similar weight, Frampton is taller. No way, shape or form? Same height and weight. Very similar shape and form. But I never said he was as good as McSlay.
I'd bring in Johnny F Noble to replace McStay. Brisbane have numerous dangerous small forwards, so JFN would help down back. Cox/Cameron to alternate ruck and forward. With Noble added down back, it offers the flexibility to shift Howe forward if needed. I'd also bring Ginnivan into the starting 22 and make Lippinski the sub. Too big a risk to play Adams with a dodgy hammy.
