I know Bris form at the MCG is terrible, but I actually think I’d prefer Melb. We match up way better against them than brissy even at the G.

Since returning from injury mcstay has kicked 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2 and 1.

Round 5 he was injured early
Round 4 he was forced into the ruck with Cameron and cox both unavailable.

McStay's defensive game on Lever for the brissie bears last year was literally the reason Melbourne got bundled out of finals. He absolutely embarrassed him.

The great thing about them getting oliver back is its not like they can win the midfield by anymore than they did on KB.

To be fair, he played higher up the ground for bris, so is playing a new role for us in a new team. He missed 3 months, and is also helping out in the ruck. I have faith those numbers will come, but he’s still good value KPP for 600k IMO

Not good for his future.

Will be out all next season, and unlikely to get a gig the following season after the ACL

Might be weird coming from a Tiger, but will be barracking for you guys come finals, all the best and hope you kick into the extra gear we know you have. Looking forward to it. Your best 22 is crazy good.

Here's how I'd go:

B: Quaynor, Moore, Howe
HB: Noble, Murphy, Maynard
C: Sidebottom, Adams, J Daicos
HF: De Goey, McStay, McCreery
F: Hill, Mihochek, Elliott
R: Cameron, De Goey, N Daicos
Int: Pendlebury, Mitchell, Lipinski, Hoskin-Elliott

Emg: Cox, Markov, Ginnivan, Macrae

Obviously Nick Daicos won't get up for week 1, so Markov or Ginnivan will play in his place, but I think you'll smack Melbourne and give the team another week off, and then Nick will come back in for the prelim.

Rather than play howe as defensive forward to take out may/lever, Id play cox as the defensive aerial forward in his periods forward .
Why? Because you can see him in congestion, so its easy to quickly know where not to kick
this may seem too simplistic, but i think it would be effective

Yep it’s going to be a brutal game. Both teams know what the reward is for winning.

Despite the Melb board thinking we only had Degoey out on QB, Our forward line was significantly weaker when we played them. May and lever won’t get is so easy this time. The team we fielded was arguably the weakest we’ve fielded all season

I saw the Pies poster that pointed out our other outs on there (when it was already being discussed by them) was given a bit of a whack for it lol.
