Just looked back on the QF stats and saw Kelly only got 13 touches. Thirteeeen!

Did we tag him? I legit cannot remember.

Edit: just read up on it.

"Cox's dominance set the scene for a remarkable opening to the game as Tim Kelly, blanketed by the tag of Levi Greenwood, was kept to just one disposal at quarter-time."

Kelly's handy to have around but he isnt used to being the top banana. Similar to Gaff, if you put some work into him he disappears from the field completely.

and there was everyone else thinking Madgen was just about our best player on the night...

And everyone else would be wrong...

The key stats for Madgen was the 56% disposal efficiency and 9 turnovers!

The only player who won his position on the night and therefore our best was Moore with his 11 intercept possessions and 100% disposal efficiency.

15th for i50 and 16th for Mi50. You aren’t winning games with that record. We can’t get it there, and when we do, nobody marks it. No surprise when you look at our midfield, old and slow. We are no 1 for hit outs 😂... And forward line, no tall mobile marking KPF. There’s no easy fix to this. Simply going to take a list overhaul.

Way to put a downer on Madge's breakout game.

Have held De Goey this long in fantasy and he is firmly on the chopping block. With Adams out for 10 weeks surely he plays midfield? You guys will be more informed than myself, what are your thoughts please?
I've had him also, he did in for scans this week to see if they could get his finger out of his middle intestine.

Honestly the guy could be anything but he is icing rather than the cake (currently) IMHO.

Isn’t a breakout game where you announce you’ve arrived as a player? If so I’d kindly request he breaks back in because he will 100% not be playing on a wing for the Collingwood seniors in Rd 1 2022 meaning he’s just taking those minutes from Macrae, Brown, McInnes, Poulter, Rantall, Bianco, Phillips, Stephenson oh wait...

He personifies our problem at the moment, especially up forward along with WHE, Thomas and Cox.
Lots of cake icing when we need more meat and 3 veg....

You never know SCO. I was very pleasantly surprised by his performance. Given his lack of experience in the role I thought it was very meritworthy.

Bucks has mentioned Moore might shift forward. It would be interesting to see how we'd structure defensively if that happened.

I thought Keane was injured. Kelly is playing forward / been injured. Otherwise we go shorter key defender with Madgen, Howe, Mihocek or Murphy as a smokey.

I can't see it working against the Eagles personally.

Good reminder in the press conference about Cameron’s good game last year over in the west. Must like playing at home.

I suspect he comes in again. Macrae is good, always exciting to see how a debutant fares. Greenwood I suspect will be the other inclusion.

Unless Madge grows a third leg or we go full tank I’m very confident given his ball use and complete lack of leg speed. He’s basically Mayne, but a turnover merchant instead of negative metres gained. Choose your poison with those two a turnover 60 metres upfield or ball retention 20 metres sideways. It’s no wonder our midfield is ****ed and Gaff will have a day out up against them this week!

FWIW I’m entirely critical of the coaching group here and not him. If they had half a brain he’d be playing two’s, but it’s clearly well established at Collingwood that effort trumps skill.

No he was poor on the night. It was a nod to us dropping Brown who would have given us no less than Mayne, Madgen, Greenwood or his brother.

Seriously? Poor? Didn’t do too much wrong, lost about 4-5 1v1 contests which unfortunately just about all led to goals, but Toby Green will do that to vastly more experienced defenders than IQ.

Hoskin Elliot is throwing a spanner in that theory. It's gonna get ugly without Adams. In Madge we trust.

I cant believe we fielded the oldest team of anyone in round 4.
It's just so Nathan to continue to play 30+ yr olds.
Greenwood will no doubt be selected in the side this week just as Mayne was the weeks prior.

Everything changes but nothing changes at Collingwood.

How long does Bucks go back to the tried and failed players who are not up to the level required to be effective as an AFL standard player ,chance after chance, it`s like he is waiting for that breakout game, sorry Bucks , your intuition, loyalty and stubborness has let you, the club and it`s supporters down big time. the onus is on you , own it or walk

Greenwood and Mayne at least set an admirable standard of committment for young kids in the team. If we are looking at developing kids, there's about 5 I'd leave out before those two.

I’ll raise you Mayne, Greenwood and Brown. There’s always an outlier and with the way the games going carrying too many slow poorly skilled players is going to cost us. We’re also getting away from your initial point that Madge was our best which was not the case.
