Greenwood and Mayne at least set an admirable standard of committment for young kids in the team. If we are looking at developing kids, there's about 5 I'd leave out before those two.

While many supporters might think the season is already shot to pieces (it may well be) for Round 5 I wouldn’t want the Club to pick anything other than what they think is the the best team for this week.

Bit early to concede the season. Hope lives! Just.

Isn’t a breakout game where you announce you’ve arrived as a player? If so I’d kindly request he breaks back in because he will 100% not be playing on a wing for the Collingwood seniors in Rd 1 2022 meaning he’s just taking those minutes from Macrae, Brown, McInnes, Poulter, Rantall, Bianco, Phillips, Stephenson oh wait...

Taking up minutes, or setting a standard of effort. The way I see it, if we do becoming totally focussed on development this year - you keep the hard, battlers for the kids to get that standard of effort from, as our senior players aren't great role models in that regard.

Trey Ruscoe – who played in the opening two rounds – will be in consideration as a marking option

When I read statements like this on our website I lose any remaining faith I may have had in the club. Has Trey actually taken one contested mark in his five or so games? Who writes this crap?

missing from QF.
AT, stevo, billy, adams, cameron.
backs against the wall game away from home. looks like we might have a few young players in and bucks' last presser hinted at changes to structure, style and personnel. eagles also not going that great.
the major worry for me is that our heads aren't in it, get that right and it would be a very Collingwood game to win.

I don't think Cameron will be missing.

We need to win the next 4 on the fly to be any chance of making finals given our next 5 after that. I haven’t seen anything remotely close to the type of footy we need to be playing in order to tick that box. As this week goes on I’m growing more confident we’ll get the dead cat bounce given the heat Buckley is now copping, but it’ll be short lived.

Stats just prove what we already know - our midfield and forward line is garbage and our defence is carrying us.
I think our mark and play on stat is pretty on the defence

I think it's mostly the midfield where you want to mark and instantly play on.
Depends on the context but you’d want it anywhere that’s not a set shot.

Good ball movement starts from the backline so I’m not absolving them from the shit show that’s currently going.

manicmagpie, you are up next for Game Day preview. Good luck!

I am just glad I don't have to do mine until Queens Birthday and hopefully we might have won a few games or we are marveling at our new guys because I couldn't stand to lose against Melbourne.:(

Game plan and personnel...

Gee those number are damning. We are badly failing to capitalise on rule changes that strongly favour direct play, fast ball movement and playing on after marks. Perhaps our coaches didn’t get the memo from AFL HQ?

261 minutes on field for 2 marks inside 50 (1 Adelaide last year, 1 Carlton this year) and 1 contested mark (Adelaide last year).

Nothing is over until we decide it is. Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no.

Like Tug McGraw said, "You gotta believe!"
