It was another poster (can't recall who) who posted in the GameDay thread that they saw JC and he told that poster that he had an infected foot.
Ah. That would explain him not really training and appeared to be limping.

On the freo board they seem fairly confident, confused how they're $2.50 under dogs, they seem to think they should be favourites.

Don't think they understand if we play with that same style against them as we did against Geelong we should realistically win by at least 25+ obviously a big if to back it up but yeah.
Sorry to intrude into your domain Collingwood faithful but I don't know what board you are reading but it definitely is not the Fremantle one, there are 3 comments saying the odds are more lopsided than they expected but no one has said we should be favorites, we are upbeat and hopeful but defiantly not confident.

Anyway, Adams is an obvious out but is that it on your front so far? On our end, it's looking like we may be unchanged as Taberner was really rusty in the WAFL, there are some question marks about O'Driscoll as he looked sore all game but Peter Bell stated there were no injuries after the game so a bit of a wait-and-see.

Quaynor is going to be busy minding Walters. He did a great job on Sengle, but Walters is a more accomplished player.

Yeah I worry about Sonny, usually tears us a new one.

The other thing is we can't allow Freo centre clearance wins and rely on turnover from the back half - especially with Sonny, Friedricks and Switkowski burning up the track in our D50.

Degs did a mountain of work clearance wise yesty (8 clearances and 465m gained), can't do it on his own and we don't have any other clearance beasts, apart from Tay.

Naics, Jaics and Billy aren't really great cc winners, and it's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Not sure how the mc will approach this game, but I'm nervous.

I think the odds are lopsided, it's 50/50 just like all our games in the last few months

De Goey has a sore shoulder, he's had scans today I think

Not sure about any other injuries but it was a pretty tough game, there will be plenty of bruises!

I like limited changes after getting so close v Cats:

Magnet board shuffling - yeah, could be a bit top heavy, but I'm sure I will refine over the coming days:

FB Murphy Moore Maynard

HB IQ Howe Noble

C Naicos Lapinski Crisp

HF Elliot Freddie Jaicos

FF Ginny AJ Sidebum

R Cox Pendles DeGoey

IC Hyphen Cameron Checkers McCreery

Sub: Whatever midfielder is fit (Macrae / JC)

Out Adams

In Kreuger, fit Midfielder as sub

Start with the cream in the guts - lead from the front Skip and Goo

WHE to the wing and Sidey/Josh to share a wing and centre square. Kreuger up forward.

I dunno SR, Sides and Jaicos aren't really a replacement for Tays clearance game. I agree that the Hyphon that is a natural winger but Jaicos and Sides are better in that position. Even Sides now.

Degs did a mountain of work in clearances (8 and 465m gained) - but we don't have anything left in the cupboard to replace Tay. Unless we bring in Cal, but it's a final and he has limited attributes, can't play unless he plays full tag role on a Serong or Brayshaw. Even then he doesn't have the leg speed of either.

Wouldn't wanna be the mc this week, we have a problem, not sure how they're going to approach it.:$

I don’t care what they think.
Never read opposition Posts or visit their boards (unless we beat Carlton & boot them out of the finals).
I had a read of the Carlton boards game day thread on our clash, and it was fascinating. There were actually many begrudging compliments along the lines of "The Filth are playing like a team possessed!" Another common comment was regarding our capacity to keep up that intensity for so long and looking at us as a standard their mob have to reach if they are to play finals.

Some even expressed disgust with the non-free to Ginnivan. They raved about the actual game.

The final few pages were more of what you would have expected.

F U filth! How sweet. Blah Blah. But even the rabid haters were complimenting the Filths never say die fighting spirit. I love reading opposition boards and being inside enemy territory. I felt proud after wandering through there today. They hate us but they respect us. What more could you ask for from an enemy?

Tay is a big out. We'll lose a bit on the inside by replacing him with Daicos or Sidey and we'll lose a bit on the outside by replacing one of them with whe, but to me that's better than replacing Tay with someone who might not contribute anything.

The majority of the West Coast board will be behind you blokes on Saturday. Wouldnt mind seeing your mob clinch it this year out of all the remaining contenders.

Talk about torn between two enemies, neutral fans barracking for the Pies is indeed a rarity. Yes even though it's Freo.

I like your optimism even if I don't fully share it. We are an excellent chance to beat Fremantle, but Sydney are the team I predict to be premiers as they are the one team that has taken us apart this year. The loss of Adams is going to be very hard to cover.

On another note, your comment about Aish reminded me that TD and I were both big supporters of him when he was at Collingwood. I am glad for his sake that the role he played at Collingwood has been so successfully duplicated at Fremantle.
Aish has been sensational every time I watch Freo. He is so unruffled and use the ball so effectively. He has really become an A grader.
As for the Swans. I did not feel what most others seem to feel after our recent loss. It never felt like a beating. I consider a game when you can't get your hands on the pill and we get pushed around and bullied on the ground and the scoreboard to be a belting. The Swans game never felt like that. We had control of the pill for periods but were off all day. They took their chances. There was nothing scary or overwhelming about that performance. I hope they feel they have our measure. I think we will also learn more from that game than the Swans did.

I may be wrong and simply be dreaming but tonight I have a tickle in my tummy which tells me there might be another twist in the tale before this season ends.

But first we have to overcome the Dockers.

Tay is a big out. We'll lose a bit on the inside by replacing him with Daicos or Sidey and we'll lose a bit on the outside by replacing one of them with whe, but to me that's better than replacing Tay with someone who might not contribute anything.

In that case the clearance work will be down to Degs pretty much, can't do it on his own though, especially with Brodie, Serong and Brayshaw in there for them. Billy maybe rotating forward /mid, even then it's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I guess we don't have much choice, probably going to have to up our turnover game. And while that's somewhat trustworthy, I'm still nervous.

Mihocek is very, very clearly injured. He barely impacted a single contest in the air all day. Butchered multiple gimme goals. Couldn’t move with enough agility to apply any defensive pressure.

He’s our workhorse, but he’s lame right now. He’s first out before Cox and Cameron for me, unless he does a LOT of healing in the next week.

The poor guy’s been hobbling around on one leg for at least a month now.

Out: Checkers, Adams
In: Kreuger… and you just know it’s gonna be Cal Brown. Eh, maybe it will be the making of him
It seems he must be but where? He looks okay-no shoulder or leg bandaging and still going hard. What could it be if he does have an injury? Cripps played injured and he always looked injured and sore. Checkers doesn't. Maybe it's just plain old bad form.

I seemed to have recalled a few comments as I described, maybe I read it wrong 😅

Taberner kicked 2 didn't he? That doesn't seem to bad for a first game back? Of course I didn't watch the game at all

Having a think about it following the loss... we had our chances and it obviously could have gone either way but it's not all doom and gloom.

Many teams since 2015/16 have made the granny going the long way around and from the bottom half of the 8.

If Melb turn it on, on their day, we're no better off against them in a prelim at the G than the Swans at the SCG.

Let's regroup, if we beat the Dockers in Saturday night then it's game on.

Well there you go! I never realised they were so obsessed with us that they have Game Day thread for our games . Bloody hell!

Oh stop it How many marks did Stanley , Mihocek, Hawkins , Blicavs take yesterday? Sick of these stats plucked out to suit an agenda. He contested well, tackled , tucked and gave his all.

He's had better days than yesterday but so has the All Australian captain. Cox was a strong component of our 11 game winning streak. We don't have to reference his prelim in 2018 to justiyhis position.
Agreed! We don’t have to reference any of that nonsense, and that was kind of my point. I’ve already stated my changes are for team balance purposes. There is no need to try to justify Cox’s inclusion by pretending that he’s something he’s not.

By the time we play our Prelim on Saturday arvo the Cats would have been knocked out 😂
"our Prelim"...

That sort of language makes me very nervous!

Freo are a bit better than some sides we struggled to beat like Carlton, Essendon and North.

And don't forget they had that thumping win over Melbourne at the MCG.

Freo will be a really tough proposition. Longmuir can coach too so no doubt he will have plans for many of the boys at Collingwood he coached recently.
