Doedee pushed through a "substantial" amount of pain over the last 6-8 weeks according to Nicks.

Didn't consider resting him until now

The club can be so far removed from reality at times. Nicks has said this like it's a virtue.

We're not impressed.

Wouldn't surprise me if they left it up to Doedee and he did what all players do and elected to keep going.
Players are always going to want to keep playing, especially with match payments and other KPI's in their contracts.

His form was awful. He wasn't having any impact. It was a good decision just like removing McHenry would be a good decision now.
Yeah I think people are thinking that he was showing his main weapons to a greater extent than he actually was. Kicking and poise was solid, not spectacular, and even his accumulation was lacking somewhat, too

Where was Nicks first presser ethos prioritise others. It doesn’t exist. It’s an indoctrination on the lower list, nothing else anywhere in the club.

Once again, for all those who maybe have never player professional or semi-professional sport, playing through niggles is perfectly normal. As a matter of fact both Burgess and Melbourne players attested to being able to build resilience around niggling injuries and playing through and beyond previously perceived physical limits as a reason for their success.

My guess is that they’ve looked at the makeup of our defence and decided that whatever limitations he has in his performance due to those niggles, was outweighed by the experience he provides down there. Don’t get me wrong I think he could have made way earlier for sure, but particular with Brown out it does make us very light on for experience, it’s not as simple as just dropping him for one reason.

With Thilthorpe out I would have brought in Frampton, to play on DeKonning and goin Ruck as the 2nd ruck too. Just gone small up forward.

the three talls in this wet game ain't gonna work

GROTTO is the expert.

I did collect 10k from Rachele in round 1 though.

Dont mind admitting, I personally would have 100% sent something to the Club for Rachele like a nice bottle of red and I dont mean Faith style promise here either, if he kicked 6.

For 6+ was paying $450.

Im very grateful however for the 5+, it was a lovely win.:thumbsu:

Thats the odds, not the return!

I still do NOT understand why we are playing obviously injured players into the ground

We have had a almost complete shift of people administering this club at all levels except recruitment ( maybe board partly)

Why are we saying it’s the AFC way ?

Are we a club that significantly goes with a coaches survival input on selection rather that future strategy?
I think so

Mate you have to be a club employee. Your literally writing an essay trying to figure out what bizzare reasons they might have for playing an obviously injured Doedee...

I don't think I've ever seen a post from you that even hints of not towing the club line.

To be fair, Weed has been calling out Dude's poor form for the last couple of months and been calling for him to be dropped for the last few weeks.

Explains his lacklustre form of late. I think it's incredbily dumb for a rebuilding side that has no chance at making finals to put an injured player out there. Maybe you'd expect this sort of thing in a contending club pushing to win a GF but it makes no sense for us.
The club think they're contending.

Many in this board have commented that Doedee has struggled since his hand injury.

It's been stupid to persist playing him as his form has been poor & we wouldn't have been much worse off - if any - by giving someone like Worrell games

Just listened to Nicks' presser.

Couple things:

1. If the report on Tuesday about Crouch was absolutely incorrect, why give it air for 3 days by not coming out and saying something? **** me, our PR department must be the worst/softest in the league.

2. Why the **** would we be asking a guy to push through a significant amount of pain for two months at this stage in our development. It makes no sense to me, unless of course, "You try telling Doedee he's not playing!"

Especially with Worrell sitting in the 2's.

Crazy to play an injured player for that long especially when his form was horrendous , compounded by the fact we missed out on getting half a dozen games into one of our young guys or to a lesser extent testing Frampton out in intercepting role .

3. He gets real cranky. I like it. Hopefully the players see this more often than not lately
