Will we see some sort of weird and inexplicable change?

I'm thinking along the lines of us dropping Schoenberg and Pedlar for Thilthorpe and Butts without dropping Himmelberg so we end up going in with heaps of talls or something
Schoenberg could be dropped, although sources close to him have revealed he suffered a corky fairly early on in last Saturdays game. Pedlar, apart from injury, has absolutely zero chance of being dropped.

Hard to refute that logic.

Seems like a win:Saltywin to me!
I dont believe in gods or religion etc etc..

But if there was a god and he came and saw me today and said “give me a hundred dollars and I’ll make sure the Power dont win a flag this year”… I’d hand a hundred bucks to him in an instant..

So I figure if I bet a $100 on em and they dont make the GF or, if they do, they lose the GF… then the $100 I lost is well worth it to enjoy seeing their salty tears.. if they do win I wont care that much as I’ll have $1500 in my pocket..

Its sort of a win:win…

Except unless you think they’ll win a flag more than once every 15 years it’s a pointless exercise

I'm surprised they are in the studio. The commentators probably want to commentate from home. Don't fear Roo will be at the ground commentating on how good the opposition's list is. Who does our list again?

What fox should do as they are obviously cutting costs is have a local commentary team for Showdowns. Hopefully in the next rights deal you will have the choice of commentary on a fox broadcast. Take your pick of Triple m, 3aw, ABC, 7, Fox.
I dont get it…

Why would anyone here give two shits where those moron fox or seven commentators actually are when they call the game?..

Half the time I watch the game with the volume turned off so I cant hear them.. really couldnt give a fxxk where they are sitting at the time when they are talking their drivel..

You do believe in god dont you George?…

If God came to you today and said give me a hundred bucks and I will make sure ports year ends in tears… would you hand it over?

That's what I mean. Something totally left field and unjustified, like dropping Butts and bringing in no other tall defender

Yeah I do and God wouldn’t make a silly request like that.

But that’s not why your doing it, your doing it on the assumption if they win you get some joy out of it by winning $$, but for that to work based on the odds you gave, then they’d need to win twice in 15 years to be ahead.

Having said that, if you enjoy it, go ahead

Im sort of saying that I literally couldnt give two shits about the $100.. so it makes it a win:win..

Port lose I bask in their loss and enjoy their salty supporters tears.. port win and I’ve got $1500 and I’ll probably buy a bottle of Chivas Regal 25 year old blended scotch with some of the winnings and drown my sorrows in liquid gold!..

1) Keane - After a 12 month break from AFL, he started training just over a month ago. He is not SANFL fit let alone AFL fit. It would be a very brave selection.
Himmelberg - Even braver.

2) If Fog isn’t available then Himmelberg keeps his spot in the 22.
1) if he's only been training a month, he won't be ready for a Showdown, unless he arrived in primo condition for a year off.
Nicks will probably play Himmelberg back again.

2) If Fog is out, Gollant IN, surely? He's kicked 4 and 6 goals in the trials and marked strongly on Sunday morning.

I can’t see a heap of changes.

We need a second tall defender;
Worrell - injured
Butts - carrying an injury and poor form

I suspect an undersized defence is the best of the poor option.

Himmelberg or Thilthorpe as Forward/Back up Ruck. Toss of a coin, I would go with Thilthorpe.

Out : Parnell, Himmelberg
In : Milera, Jones (sub)

Keane had just come off the back end of an All Ireland Grand Final with club Ballygiblin.. the Grand Final was held 14th january.. he landed at the crows a week or so later.

He also played gailic footy when he was back in Ireland..

He wouldve been fitter than most of our lads who’d just come off their xmas holidays..

Its not like he went back to Ireland over a year ago and sat on the fxxkn couch..

Keane didn't exactly have a year off, he was playing hurling with Ballygiblin in Ireland, so he's not walking in with a ground floor fitness base. Now I dunno how long it'd take to go for hurling fit to footy fit, but he'd be someway along the way.

Oh goodness you haven’t been to Scotland - Chivas Regal ?

Powaa have about as much chance of winning a flag as of Roo leaving the club. Nil.

Not a surprise given he's been kept out of training. Gollant time to get yourself some goals!

Gollant won't play. They'll pick Himmelberg and Thilthorpe up forward.

(Maybe I'll be proven wrong in minutes)

I think that Keane started training with us the week before our internal trial. I watched him closely in the trial against Glenelg and he was struggling with fitness at that very low level of intensity. He shows excellent signs but I will be very surprised to see him in the AFL before May.

Given our lack of options we might just say wtf let’s give it a crack.

For those who have played multiple sports, my experience is that you canbe super fit from say playing squash/ athletics but you really feel the pinch when playing your first AFL game after 6 months

You ****ing idiot! How could you be so wrong and so close to when the teams were released!

IN: Gollant, Butts, Thilthorpe, Milera

OUT: Fogarty (knee), Parnell (concussion), Himmelberg, Schoenberg (omitted)

Emergencies (for sub): Hamill, Himmelberg, Jones, McHenry
Wow. Don't mind it. Would like Taylor over Milera at the moment, and surprised by Butts.
