Schoenberg very very very lucky
He's not in the 22

Murphy the lucky one. Stays in the 22 ahead of McAdam. And ahead of McHenry for that matter

"No room for McAdam."

At the game on Saturday I thought that Jones, McHenry, Murphy and Keays all had good to very good games.

I then read the game day thread on Saturday night and realised that I was at the wrong match. Keays was hopeless, Murphy barely sighted and McHenry did a couple of nice things but he is still a spud 🙄. Now that I have watched the replay I have to admit that I was wrong. McHenry, Murphy and Keays were even better than I remembered. IMHO it was Chayce’s best game and Gollant did everything expected of him.

To make matters worse all our “overrated, experienced players” (that would be our four 100+ game players being Tex, Sloane, Smith and Laird) also did their bit. Even Wayne was looking better.

So…somewhere between zero and six changes????

The only players who were drop worthy on Saturday were Hinge and Butts (and I expect they are both needed if we have any chance of structuring up against Carlton). With 2 200 cm+ forwards plus Charlie Curnow could The Berg be a Smokey????

Based on a single game that's rough on Ned, but the larger picture it's the absolute right move to make. Pedlar has the potential to be a very good player, it's essential we get as many games into him as we can, especially given his interrupted first few year. Ned was given that chance previously and hasn't ever been able to put together consistent games, so for now he's moved down the pecking order a few spots. It's a long term decision that also shouldn't massively impact the quality of what we put out on game day.

You can certainly argue Murphy should have been in line instead, but Murphy is generally a one touch, good decision maker which would put him ahead of McHenry of the two for me.

He should be in but who does he replace. Ned cannot be dropped on last weeks form.

Of course he can. It depends on who has become available and the average of Ned’s games. You can’t judge him based upon that one game when you’re rebuilding and there’s higher end talents looking to return to the side. One game is meaningless in terms of a form line at a proper selection table.
