Oh Lawd, Henry is outrageously good
Yeah, every time I turn on a Collingwood game he's plucking marks. Worried about that one. Hibberd might be an option for him but that would mean Gus potentially on De Goey.
If their forwards are on and they're getting decent entries, we're going to need some of our defenders to play very well.

So maybe trying to take some pressure off Lever by having another bloke who peels off and marks.
Maybe, it would make sense to give Turner the sort of role he has at VFL level, and Lever can focus on stopping a man instead given he’s stunk it up in the “Lever role” so far this year.

Turner defends by using judgement and either marking or spoiling while on the move. I’d be concerned if Turner was caught flat footed in a wrestle against a mature AFL forward.

I'd be concerned if Lever was in the same spot. He's not a key defender.

Lever’s not a great key defender in a wrestle I agree, but I’d rather him do that defence first job than expect Turner, in his first game, trying to do that when Turner doesn’t do that at VFL level.

Lever at least has more experience, and despite his spindly chicken legs, a more developed body than Turner.

No one ever said Turner would do that? I said we were bringing him in to assist Lever as a marking defender so Lever can position himself a bit more freely. Pig is the lockdown 1 on 1

I guess we will see on Monday how they structure up the backline.

I just hope they give the most difficult jobs to the most experienced players and don’t throw Turner or Bowey to the wolves.

If Petty doesn’t come up, I don’t like anyone as a match up on Cameron or Cox swapping as deep forwards.

Jamie Elliott worries me, that might be Hibberd’s match up.

There are still question marks over Mihocek’s fitness too with his knee bone bruising, so it’s really difficult to predict what we will see.

If Petty doesn't get up Max Gawn is gonna have to sit behind the footy for 90% of the game. But the pies don't belt it long and high they move it by handball and run. So really I don't think our back 6 matters it's can the HFF and mids hold them up in the middle of the ground or are we gonna let them explode up the corridor with BBB, Trac and a few others struggling to defend.

This game used to be so much about celebrating our past, as well as it being a game where we could be the focus

That shit feels so much different when you've broken the drought and are the reigning premiers

Aside from the round 1 GF rematch, I’ve felt a bit “meh” about every game this year. It’s a weird feeling no doubt.

As the stakes go up in the second half of the qualifying rounds I think that general vibe changes, especially as the second half of our draw is much harder than the first.
There will always be that fallback of “at least we won last year” compared to the drought breaking year though.

I was disappointed that we didn’t bounce back last week but the main thing is we follow last years form line, start to open up our ball movement and hit our straps in the last couple of months of the season.

Chandler, Baker, Tomlinson all held out of the VFL today. Late changes a-coming. Imagine Chandler sub, Tomlinson maybe on standby for Petty, and god forbid we have to replace someone with Oskar Baker

Regardless, least optimistic I've been going into a game in the last 18 months. Not catastrophic if we lose given we'll still be on top, but a win would set up the rest of the season nicely
