Lost his head after quarter time
Wouldn’t have expected that with so many games under his belt...

To me the criticism of Madgen is he just didn’t seem to have the agility for the game, and I think it was a physical thing, not a pace of the game thing. Too often his body was noticeably to slow to react to the play, whether it be running past the contest, or not being quick enough to apply pressure to the correct player. Unfortunately the holes I saw in his game aren’t something that you can just correct with more experience.

BBB - Bring Back Blair I say.;)
If he’s available you almost may as well.

Wouldn’t perform any worse than Brown and we need to know what his capabilities are should we become even more injury decimated for finals. If he’s completely off the pace then that’s it.

How do we structure this Defence?

Howe, Langdon, Maynard, Crisp, Murray, Madgen?
I think Howe could help Madgen, but obviously don't want to leave KPD to a second gamer.

I'd love for us to give him a rest but we really need to win. He had 8 tackles still, so he is working hard.
Yep.
He can rest at the end of the season.
Because of his speed and X factor has to be minded by a good defender like tonight.

He stays!

Bucks rattled of the following names as possible ins: Howe, have a look at JDG:eek:, Aish, Fasolo, Blair, Smith and Oxley depending on how they play tomorrow.

Howe for Moore
Aish for Brown
JDG for Daicos

Would be a huge difference to the team.

Who are our Leaders down back? Tonight we had on field Langdon, Maynard, Crisp, Murray, Madgen and Mihocek. Too much inexperience there. No wonder it was disorganized.

Again with no panic, going through it logically.

This season we tend to make minimal changes.

We tend to give a new player a run at games.

Suspect Adams won’t be troubled by the tribunal or Christian.

Suspect Mayne will have some explaining to do. Fists to the head, unintended or not, minimal impact maybe fine?

De Goey I suspect won’t be risked.

For the Blair fans, I think he’s been passed by, so we won’t see him.

Greenwood, has too much nasty grunt in a good way to be dropped.

Stephenson can rest at the seasons conclusion. He’s bounced back previously. Plus he is minded these days so takes a good defender. Far more vital for us than say Daicos or Brown.

In:
  • Howe returns is logical.
  • Aish returning looks likely too.
Out:
  • Moore (injured)
  • Brown (returns to the lesser grade notwithstanding all his tackles)
Last point as a possible:

Sam McLarty could be a selection, but just don’t see Madgen not getting the second game and unless they want that bit more height. Then Daicos or even Mayne could miss.

Will be fine imo. The ruling will probably say that he had no reasonable alternative in the circumstance. Got there a split second too late, with an intention to spoil. Was pretty clear there wasn't any malice as he could have cleaned him up if he really wanted to.

Didn't need the wink. I like Callum Brown, but if it is for a forward role, Blair is a better option.
The wink was for the dislikers.

He has been playing well but I think Brown and Daicos are the future even though I think he has been much maligned when we didn't have options.
