Ever heard of Norm Smith?
i have, bit before my time though haha.

Most of the people I've seen having a go at the decision to move him on have been opposition supporters. :/
i've seen a fair bit of it on the suns supporter page on facebook too. although that's probably not saying a whole lot...

Going to have to bring in some experiance this week , can see Stanley coming straight back in like they did with Lemmens . McKenzie , Matera and hall all to come in , over 250 games there

In - Stanley , McKenzie , Matera , A.Hall
Out - Miller , Sexton , Harbrow (inj ) , Hallahan (inj)

I am already mentally preparing myself for us to be 0-3 after next round. Don't mean to be a negative nancy but our current form & structures don't suggest any different.

But I do hope we see improvement in every facet of our game giving us confidence to beat GWS & Brisbane in Rds 4 & 5 and get the season back on track.

Suns spine: May, Thompson, Tape, Smith, Day, Lynch.
Geelong spine: Hawkins, Clark, Simpson, Blicavs, Longeran & Taylor.

The Suns spine last weekend were down right awful.
If the Suns want to be competitive against the hand baggers
the Suns spine need to f#%$ing stand up

Because of Geelongs big reputation this might be a game where the boys put in a full 120 mins of effort. For some reason over the last few years the Suns players have all got up Tfoz the Geelong game

Nick Malceski....have not been impressed so far!! Thought KK did a better job there last year....would KK be better back there or stay on the wing....do you think KK is getting used much on the wing for all the running he is doing? (Although round one he was tagging Lumumba)

I haven't seen anywhere that Hallahan is actually injured? I know he went off late in the game, but I thought it was just a cork or something with his hip. Obviously Harbs is out, but I haven't seen much news on Hallas.

I'm honestly not sure if Aarron Hall is up to scratch for AFL footy. Yeah, he goes well at NEAFL, but never seems to dominate at AFL level.

I'd bring back in Shaw, Stanley, Nicholls, McKenzie, and Matera. Maybe Hall.

Ribs and unlikely to get up. 8 day break will help him though.

Is Stanley fit?
Nope. Might play 2s this week.

Is dixon playing in the 2's this week?
Nope. Earliest he'll get up is next week.

Everyones saying Miller needs to go back to the NEAFL yet he led the Suns with 19 pressure acts..
Which by guessing must be about half if all pressure acts for the team last week..

My vibe was that he seemed a bit overwhelmed by the pace of the game. I am not saying he isn't going to make it at AFL level at some point but it is difficult to shine when most of your team mates also look average.

I am not sure where you get 19 pressure acts from though - AFL stats say he got 3 kicks, 8 handballs & 4 tackles.

The only way for me to be sure is to re-watch the game & i am not sure sure i want to do that !

Cheers

'Pressure acts' I imagine is something that only Champion Data record. It's stuff like chasing, corralling and generally putting pressure on the opposition when they have the ball. Considering we had very few players doing that, he stays in on that alone.

In fact, all of our draftees should stay in IMO. Garlett deserves a full game, too. They were all good.

From the Clubs on website about millers pressure acts.
You dont need to get the football to push smother chase tackle force mistakes/turnovers etc

I do agree with you.
The hype regarding some of these new players and Miller is one does astound me ! He was overwhelmed as no doubt he would have been! his stats are not great and the club is putting a positive spin on the young players to cover up what is going on.
On a positive note I do like Saad he has stepped up and looks like he should be there.

The team is disjointed and bringing in some many new and inexperienced players at once has not helped. New game plans, new roles and now new inexperienced players is not helping. I am not saying they do not deserve to play but bring them in one by one and not all together.

I can't wait for the injured players to come back and bring in the more experienced players to settle before changing too much.
It looked to me that this new play on and get rid of the footy quickly game plan is challenging and a little unsettling at this stage. We need to concentrate on gelling as a team again and trust in each other and move forward after that.
We looked like we did at the inception of the GC where players did not work together and trust in their own ability.
Ede is such a different coach than Bluey and the boys are obviously not used to his ways or being told straight about their deficiencies.
I am sure the team will get there but we need consistency and experience on the park.

One name that never gets brought up is Peter wright. I was reading articles last year that he was the next big thing (the greatest number 8 pick ever) and yet no one has said boo about him in the preseason or after Sam day poor performance

eade and the club want to manage him. he's a young KPP, they take time. develop him, get some games into him in the reserves, build him up so he doesn't get broken down as soon as he hits the afl.

we have the ability to do this now, whereas previously we hadn't. in our first year, drafting the likes of lynch and day, along with dixon who was still young at the time, they all played games straight away because we had no one else.

2mp might play a couple games later in the year. but don't expect him to get many games. also, he had a bit of a knee injury during the preseason, which he's just recently recovered from.
