Can't see how Scott gets dropped before JJ off today's game. Similar role, one actually wanted to get their hands dirty today.

Although Cordy was horrendous, can't drop him for Young at he'll likely be worse. As soon as Keath or Gardner are back though, it's see ya later.

Even though I don't really think Sweet is AFL ready yet.... with Bruce going down, I don't think we have much option other than backing him in and pushing English forward. Also saves JUH from the chopping block to keep the structure. He needs to lift though.

Richards to never play forward of the ball again, we have a full season of evidence to show he sucks there. Whatever we gain with Daniel down back, we lose that and more with Richards up forward to accommodate it. Just switch them to benefit the team overall.

Out: Bruce, JJ
In: Sweet, Weightman

Backs: Schache, Cordy, Dale, Duryea, Richards, Wood, Williams
Mids: Sweet, Bont, Macrae, Libba, Treloar, Smith, Hunter, Dunkley
Fwds: Naughton, English, JUH, Weightman, Daniel, Garcia, Scott

Out: Bruce, Scott, Richards

In: Sweet, Weightman, Hannan

We need to mix it up. Hannan at least can lead up the ground and fill a bit of the void left by Bruce.

Sweet in for competitiveness and size. We were not going to win more than one final with English as a sole ruck. He's just not aggressive enough.

Weightman in because he's a class act and the heartbeat of the fwd line.

Scott is a just a foot soldier and Richards shirked a couple today, and I'll be disappointed if the selectors didn't see it.

B: Wood Cordy Dureya
HB: Dale Schache Williams
C: Hunter Liberatore B.Smith
HF: Treloar Naughton Johannisen
FF: Weightman English Ugle-Hagan
RUC: Sweet Bont Macrae
Int: Hannan Garcia Dunkley Daniel

Or maybe just play Richards off half back and Daniel higher up where both are better suited

Hopefully this gets a mention both internally and externally this week but the Hawks game will be our 2,000th V/AFL match. We are the last of the remaining classic 12 teams to reach this milestone and even though we shouldn't need any extra motivation but it would be nice to bring up this milestone with a win.

In: Face masks so we don't feel like we have to social distance in the Defensive 50...I can somewhat understand playing off your man in general play but how are they already 10m clear from centre bounces...I don't understand.

Surprisingly even though Hawthorn have won their past two games, looking at the expected score they should've lost both of them marginally. They have just been so damn accurate in front of goal ranking 2nd for goal accuracy and 1st for set shot goal accuracy over the season.

Hawthorn like us score heavily from turnover but they are ranked 17th for scores from stoppages while we are ranked 3rd. So as long as we can win the clearance game and tidy up the accuracy inside 50 we should win this easily. We just can't give them easy access inside 50 as they never miss.

English has to go forward and has proven to be reasonably accurate this season going at 50% (17 goals, 12 behinds, 5 no scores) so I'd swap Sweet for English and Weightman for Scott.

It'll be interesting, last 2 weeks we've beaten Brisbane and Collingwoods midfields. O'Meara, Wingard, Worpel and Mitchell are all in form and we've got a couple who are coming up from there too. It will be an interesting game i hope it's at UTAS.

Out: Bruce (😢), Scott (to sub)
In: Weightman, Sweet

Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Hannan or Young in ahead of Sweet though

i think people are forgetting an elite forward who was pushed out due to structural changes and being too slow when we're playing multiple talls.
now Bruce is out it paves to way for Wallis to come back in, just needs to kick around 10 goals in the next 5 games and we have reasonable coverage for Bruce. Bevo hinted at getting creative now and this is something that could happen.

the other option is English forward if Martin plays, Sweet isnt good enough against the best, so only 2 options for mine.

Im actually shocked at how there's not many calls for Cordy to be dropped?

I'm at the stage where I'd prefer Young. At least Young can give an ok ruck chopout option.
Gotta agree with you mate, we've gotta have B plans as we've been shown, sh!t happens.
We need ruck help a backup KPD/KPF.
Timmy moved up front to solve 1 issue. Lewy could solve the other if some currently injured players don't get up.

My prediction is a left-field selection this week - it's Bevo, so we all know to expect the unexpected. As Sam Simmons says "don't be surprised, when you're surprised". I expect a meltdown of Bontical proportions on Thursday night. (I also expect if Sweet is selected, there will be times in next week's game where none of Sweet, English or Schache contest a centre bounce, just so the coach can troll the football world again.) Bevo - genius? Madman? Or both?

If Sweet is black listed then I'd have Young play ruck. English must return forward for not only the sake of the team but to improve his personal performances.

Cordy can play 2s for the rest of the season. Would rather Schache play lone tall with Wood playing tall (until Keath and Gardy return).

It's not the worst suggestion. If we're going to get monstered in the ruck at least English is a real threat up forward and can battle whichever second ruck we come up against. Young can drop behind the play and intercept, I really don't rate him as a one on one accountable defender but he can guard space.
English to ruck in the F50 and have Young drop back there too

Young can play in defence if he has Wood there to tell him where to stand. Otherwise jack of all trades where he plays forward or rucks as needed but Hannan is more likely to play that role.

Without Bruce I'd probably be okay with a forward line of
JJ English JUH
Weightman Naughton Wallis

Wallis brings that leadership and experience to bolster the forward line.

I watched the 2016 finals highlights the other day and Zaine was serviceable up forward.

Forgive me if I've just completely blanked this period out of my life, but have we ever actually tried this at all relatively recently? IF Alex Keath is due to come back, could we try Cordy up forward?

Not convinced on JJ he has been just going for a very long time.

Then again not sure what role he plays, so that's the get out of jail card.

Yeah, I mostly picked him because it’s such a young forward line that needs leadership and experience. Libba moving forward could also help with that. Libba and Wallis with Flea/English/Naughton/JUH could be a decent balance.
