Wood will be all over Mem.
Wood being athletic but not that tall will eat alive any throwback key forwards who's shorter than modern midfielders.
Interesting player, Membrey. Could very well be the last key position forward in AFL history under 190cm.

It will be interesting to see how the players recover after
such a taxing contest.

With the ruck situation as it is we may as well play an
extra mid-fielder and concede the tap out. Lin Jong is
probably the number one ruck at the moment anyway.

Out- Ayce Cordy + any sore players
In- Extra mid-fielder

Probably will be a few sore dogs to be rested, and yes Cordy unfortunately has to go back to VFL level. We can't keep getting smashed like that in ruck contests, Pyke nearly broke the record for hitouts to advantage in a quarter so it is hurting us to an extent. He moves around very well and tries hard, but it's got to be Minson or Campbell in with Roughy giving help there (Looks very good as backup ruck / around the ground utility).

Hunter, Dale, Minson, Campbell, Wallis (maybe needs another week), Biggs all chances to play depends on what Bev wants to do. Redpath playing decently too by the looks of it, hopefully gets a run soon again.

Ayce definitely out, they killed us in centre clearances with first use of the ball often from direct tap outs.

Will leave it up to the match committee to decide who they bring in, because they are doing a hell of a better job than whoever was in charge last year. Go doggies!

Listening to Bev's presser I'd say Ayce will survive. He said they were very happy with his effort and suggested the hitout advantage didn't translate to an advantage generally. If Bev rates him, and he seems to, he won't let a flogging in hitouts change things. I thought he had a shocker but you either back him or you don't. He was fine last week and is back in dry conditions next week. Longmire didn't seem that impressed with Pike despite the hitouts.

If Wallis is back I'd look at Honeychurch and Smith but really no one deserves to be dropped.

Great to see Webb excel. I was worried about what would happen when Murph and Boyd retire because there was no obvious replacement for a creative backman. Webb will fill this role nicely.

I'll reserve my comments until I've seen a full replay, but could Fletch and Talia realistically hold down key posts?

Do we then bring in Redpath for Boyd to play back up ruck so we still have structure up forward throughout the match?

If we're going with Talia and Roberts as our two KPD's..

In: Hunter/Biggs
Out: Cordy

And Roughead to ruck?

This week is all about recovery. Recovery, recovery and some more recovery. I'd be confident in whoever they pick as long as they are fit (and recovered).

Was very helpful in the back 50 at times too I thought, saved at least one goal by chasing someone down (think it was Towers) in the first quarter. Very happy with his game

Agree. Dickson has been fantastic, provides great pressure, is very smart and kicks goals. No way he should be rested.

I hope Campbell can recover is 2013 form and take the ruck position but perhaps as an interim the MC see Cordy/Roughhead combo with both taking time in the ruck and down back. Fletcher was good today and he could also add versatility playing back and forward. Just a thought.

Also worried for our legs, hopefully they give plenty of recovery and make changes if needed. You can't go beat Sydney and then lose to Saints - You will end up like norf.

Minson should have played today in the wet. Give Ace next week he needs an extended run in the dry to be sure he is not up to it.

Who are we trying to convince ? Ayce ? Because everyone else has made up their minds

Seems to me that Cordys ability to play a defensive role when Roughy goes into the ruck is the reason that Bev likes Cordy. If it's Minson or Campbell then the release has to be Boyd as neither Campbell or Minson could play the defensive role.

So it's interesting we got smashed in the hit outs and we lost the centre clearance by a lot. But we won the game. Last year those stats were reversed often and we lost.

Perhaps there is more to this footy game than winning the stats.

Like it or not a lot of football games are decided by the week or weeks
leading up to them, for example returning from West Australia or the
harsh humidity of the Northern states or the dreaded slog in wet
conditions rarely seen in modern football. I think Norf lost to the
Hawks by less than we did.
