Probably with a decent reason. I’m far from the turf him out, let him leave camp.
That’s all a load of bollocks but I wouldn’t say the last two weeks should see Cam return.

Zac needs at least a season in the reserves to learn.
I’d have Cam Guthrie over Murdoch, Parsons or Gregson eleventy times a day.

On form that is not even debatable.
The question is whether that applies to this post injury very rusty Cam Guthrie?

Parsons and Gregson at least played well in the VFL before spudding it up.
Radar Murdoch won’t get dropped. Another week under the coaches omission radar.

I’d give Cam another week in the VFL.

Having watched the VFL I said the same about Guthrie - needs more VFL time. But I don’t see the downside to him replacing one of those three. Literally can’t be any worse.

Pathetic isn’t it. We have improved from last time we played them, and we still have some important players missing who can bridge the gap, and it’s the same sad sacks who carry on like we just got flogged by 100 points.

What do these flogs expect, a 150 point win every week and to go through the season undefeated?:rolleyes:

you sir are a moron

Hope C.Guthrie doesn't come in after the bye. I admit my attention was divided between the VFL on 7 and the VFLW on YouTube on Saturday, but it seemed every time I looked at the TV Guthrie was handballing to a younger, less experienced teammate surrounded by opponents deep in the backline as if to say "Here it's your problem now son. You get rid of it", especially in the third quarter when we were under siege down back.

and where would you play him?
Doubt it’s Gregson’s spot.

I want two meat trays if I get this correct:

Out - Z. Guthrie (omit), Parsons (omit), Gregson (omit), McCarthy (inj), Henry (omit).

In - C. Guthrie, Narkle, S. Selwood, Menzel, Taylor.

C. Guthrie isn’t amazing but he’s better than Z. Guthrie at least. Narkle takes over from Parsons at the HFF sort of role. Then with Gregson & McCarthy going out I’d have Murdoch & Parfitt probably the ones who play more forward as pressure forwards. Henry very very unlucky but I have a feeling that’s what the MC will do as they’ll play Taylor back I expect.

FB: Bews - Taylor - Kolodjashnij
HB: Stewart - Blicavs - Tuohy
C: Duncan - S. Selwood - Ablett
HF: Kelly - Hawkins - Parfitt
FF: Murdoch - Menzel - Fogarty
R: Stanley - Dangerfield - J. Selwood
INT: Cunico, Menegola, C. Guthrie, Narkle.

If Menzel returns I expect Danger to play more midfield, as we like Hawkins up the ground more so Dangerfield had to become that deeper option with Menzel out, but now Menzel’s back and he’s going to win the Coleman.

Narkle making his debut means we are able to play Cockatoo in the VFL. Which Cocky should be doing anyway but I have a feeling if Narkle wasn’t playing so well and we wanted to replace Parsons/McCarthy we’d bring Cocky straight into the seniors, so with Narkle playing so well in the VFL it allows us to reward him in the seniors while bringing Cocky back in the VFL first. Henderson still in the VFL for another 2-3 weeks after the bye to regain his touch & match fitness.

Also with Scooter back I’d want him to take most of Kelly’s inside mid time. Nothing against Kelly as he uses it very well when in there, but a couple of Kelly’s goals this year roving the pack beautifully inside 50, hitting it at pace and snapping a goal has been fantastic. So I feel like the HF spot would be good for him because it allows him to push up and help out at stoppages essentially playing as another midfield, but then push forward and hit the ball at pace crumbing it off a pack mark as well as he does.
I like this well reasoned post.

Sounds similar to what Zuthrie does. So I’ll take Cuthrie’s bigger body (even though he doesn’t use it much) over Zuthrie. Or Thurlow in for Zuthrie.

So nothing has changed.

I'd leave them both out.

My changes for the game against the Dishlickers:

In: Thurlow Narkle Buzza
Out: Z.Guthrie Parsons McCarthy

Well it looks like Cam Guthrie is coming straight back in to chip the ball sideways and put teammates under pressure with stupid handball.

In: Guthrie, Menzel, Narkle, Taylor, Selwood

Out: Henry, (give him a couple of weeks off to freshen up) Parsons, Z.Guthrie, Gregson, McCarthy

Next on the chopping block is Murdoch.

I’d have Cam Guthrie over Murdoch, Parsons or Gregson eleventy times a day.

But Cam Guthrie gets caught holding the ball every third game so that renders anything positive he does meaningless.

That aside quite enthused about Cam’s return. He will be add plenty.

The lay off might have done him some good, reckon he was a bit jaded. His problems are mental, get the impression he is not a guy who absolutely eats being a professional football animal like some.

He has the talent.

The other big misconception about Guthrie is he plays best at half back. I disagree. Not desperate enough to play on last line. He is a creative runner. Play him on wing.

Tom Hawkins is currently on track to have one of his best statistical seasons in his 12-year-career.

You probably didn’t realise it, but this year the key cog in the Cats’ forward 50 is averaging the most kicks, marks, disposals and goal assists in his 12-year-career, while also averaging above his career mark for goals per game.

His statistic of 1.27 goal assists per game is 47 per cent higher than ever before in his career.

And after this season he'll be a 7x leading goalkicker for us.

Only 2 off of Ablett Senior.

Dont want Taylor, reckon he is cooked.
You would pick a one eyed Crameri ahead of a hungry game starved Menzel?
Watching Taylor in the 2's last week, he was very very good
Guthrie on the other hand played in the twos the same way, handing the ball to those already covered, releasing himself of responsibility. I'd want to see more from him than that before I'd select him.
Selwood, Menzel, Taylor and Narkle for mine

But isn't it amazing. If you said 15-20 years ago, your main FF kicks 50 or so goals for the season that's not a pass mark. But in today's game it's a good effort :drunk::drunk:
