Why is anyone thinking that we have any chance to win this one?

If Carlton get multiple players injured (not something I’m hoping for in any way) and have to change their structure and play style so much that us scoring 7 goals keeps us in the game - then I’d give us a very small chance of scrapping our way to boring and irrelevant win.

Forget the result - what we need to do is play the talent. No matter what. No yo-yoing.

Keane was close to our best last week.

I thought Nank and Cook showed the type of stuff that had me nodding my head for the first time this year.

I love Rankine up forward, but he needs to have regular visits to the centre bounce.

Ffs, play Rachele solely in the middle for a few games. Give him the CBAs. Don’t be scared.

I want to see Curtin learning in the AFL, not the SANFL.

I want Dowling / Ryan / Edwards to have a prolonged stint in the 23.

I want Gallant to show me if he’s got it or not. Can he take the next step? Maybe he works well with Fog and Thilthorpe in the long term?

But who cares what I want right? I mean, the club know what’s best. I have had enough to do with elite sport to know that we do not have all the facts, for sure the club have more info to make their decisions … and that extra detail can push the needle. BUT we are past that point now where the detail matters at all - we need to get the big cultural decisions front and centre.

What do we stand for onfield? Ask another supporter to describe the Crows game-day brand right now … good luck.

Line in the sand time for me.

Or not.

Depends who they are serving really.

Who does Nicks ultimately serve? It’s just a hobby for us supporters remember.

Yay! I love this 25 year merry go round of pain!!

A team with no expectations, no pressure on it is always a chance for an upset.

Whether it means anything afterwards is another matter

I need them at training to do a moving target game, if you can hit the target you are automatically selected.

Have a player run pushing a wheelie bin with arms outstretched and if you can kick it in the bin with someone running towards you with it, on a 45 degree angle towards and away from you and one going directly across in front of you 35m away.

That would also help kicking it to advantage of where the player is going too.

Just try something different at training in regards to target hitting because we've barely hit one all year

Love the idea --- gotta try something to improve accuracy!!
But if our players can run pushing a wheelie bin with arms outstretched, that'd be quite a feat. :sneaky:

Cirque du Soleil stuff!
Edit; OUR blokes would have multiple wheelie bin pile-ups.

Did you get any hints during pre season that the coaching panel would be so reluctant to trying any of our recent draftees (maybe always being in the B teams during match sim or stuff like that)? Other clubs have no issue with it, even the top 8 clubs.
I think it is starting to click for you that we are still in the gutter after rebuilding for several years.

I don't think the AFL will let us field a team of 7 players

I'm confused.... Maybe my arms are short but if the bin is in front of me and I've rocked it back on the wheels to push it.... Normally my arms are stretched out (not a 90 degree angle but my arms are straight)... like there's no bend in my elbows when I'm pushing the bin..... Am I using the bin wrong?? Hahaha

lol @ literal me  .

I took "outstretched" to mean stretched-out sideways <<looking for my medication now :drunk: :drunk: >>

added confusion, because I pull my wheelie bin behind me.
I've seen too many short vids of people getting smacked in the head when the wind catches the lid.

Reminds me, I gotta put my bins out tonight. Thanks :thumbsu:.

Nicks had to mention training form to justify Hamill.

I suspect Hamill is known and trusted more than other options. He will give you a 3-6/10 performance, but get delisted at the end of this year or next.

Curtin or Ryan could give you a 2-7/10 performance and get some needed gametime and senior experience, but we simply are risk adverse.

Ah, the old training form chestnut.

Nicks does realise we train against ourselves???

It was really troubling to hear Nicks speaking earlier. He was suggesting we were this close to putting it all together and that we only need a few small tweaks and minimal player changes.

Midfield is going fine, apparently.

He’ll be saying the same thing when we are 0-10.

I know the club wont ever try it but we should give Curtin a go up forward instead of Burgess.
Lets back in our #8 pick and get him into the fold.
The club have Curtin pigeoned holed into a backman and once again, wont experiment to see if we can achieve something with a greater cause.
But Marvel is our bogie ground, we just get horrors every time we play there for some reason
I cant see it changing this week
I want to try Keane forward instead of Burgess. Borlase can cover Keane.
