IN: Macdonald.
OUT: Morton.

Morton's been playing what looks like a defensive role... and hes playing rubbish so bring someone in who has played good footy this year.

I'm uncertain about bartram... i would prefer that he had a week in the ressies but if rioli were to go forward who would take him? Frawley and nicho could be almost par pace wise but a nicholson/rioli match-up is not good for us.

Agree with the changes.

I think you've raised a good point though - Nicho should take Rioli. He's got the pace and the tackling ability and the fact that he's so good when rebounding means that Rioli's going to have to keep an eye on him as his direct opponent.

Herald Sun saying here Davey is still a little bit away, but IIRC Fitzpatrick played on the weekend so might be unreliable

Don't go by a HUN injury list.

This is the AFL list, but Melbourne (along with some other teams) are only updated after July 12.

Rohan Bail (Knee) 2 weeks
Aaron Davey (Knee) Test
Jack Grimes (Foot) Season
Joel Macdonald (Knee) 1 week
Michael Newton (Foot) 1-2 weeks
Tom Scully (Knee) Test
Jake Spencer (Knee) Season

All the best for Sunday fellas and may the best team win

Got a bad feeling you may be in with a chance considering a lot of our players will be lacking match fitness

For what it's worth here are the possible changes for the hawks

In: Lewis, Sewell, Rioli and Bateman
Out: Young, Milne,Cheney, ?

We may get Renouf,Lisle or Schoenmachers back but I reckon they could be another 1 or 2 each
As much as Cam Bruce would love to play he will come back from injury through the VFL and imo isnt near our best 22 even when fit either.
Ladson is pushing for selection as he is getting BOG's for Box Hill but we already have sufficiant HBF. Don't try and fix something that is not broken

Best of luck and if we were to lose over the next two months, I would prefer it be agaisnt you guys as I've always had a soft spot for the Dees

interesting to note that Strauss got 6 &10 disposals for Port and richmond respectively.

But amassed 21&21&20&17 for bulldogs/pies/bombers/freo (considerably harder team)

but one thing to note is that he got all his high disposal matches when playing in MCG, the low disposal matches were either in TIO or etihad.

Perhaps that has something to do with the type of delivery and the inside 50 count into our defense? All due respect to Port and Richmond, but elite kicking doesn't really appear to be their strong suit

Nice post jinny1.

Perhaps we gave better players tougher jobs against the better sides?

He probably enjoys the side flanks at the G too. He was a massive receiver off half back in the juniors - that seems to be his natural game.

OUT: "Spud" Morton Strauss

IN : Davey Dunne

I reckon the "Spud" Morton has been nominated to get dropped for the past month, yet he has survived.

I reckon this spud's luck has finally run out. FFS drop him!

If he doesn't get dropped after his shocker against Port....he must have some pretty good incriminating photos of someone on the selection commitee.
Is Dunne a new recruit? Bud, if you are unable to correctly spell or pronounce our players names, you should not be allowed to comment on our football club. Piss Off, or go to Carlton. That is all.

Dunn is a good chance to get picked as he received some good reports from Brad Gotch is his weekly review.

would not surprise to see him get selected.

i loled @ all the idiots who wanted Strauss dropped

you people are clueless

Exactly. Strauss is an important part of our future and should be played for the rest of the season. Can hit targets by foot as well which will be needed this weekend.

Morton was on everybody's 'Out' list, so we all got our wish. My guess is Evans will come in for him as he was BOG for Casey last week. And if Scully doesn't pull up, then Bartram will most likely get a recall.

Davey and MacDonald still not fit???

Turns out Bartram and Evans pulled up lame from training. I guess Jones is listed to start at half back so our midfield stocks aren't THAT poor.

Bate really needs to do something. He looks like a liability when out on an AFL field these days. It was really quite sad watching him struggle against Adelaide whilst everyone else was dominating :(
