This Saturday, shapes up to be a big game. All the talk of finals will probably be decided here and there.. If we do somehow manage to win this, the chance of finals becomes that much stronger.

Changes for the game would most likely include McGrath?
Considering Karnezis's great game in the reserves, I would think that's it.

OUT: McGrath
IN: Karnezis

Although, I feel that there are a couple of players who deserve to get rewarded and a couple who are pretty lucky to be in the team. Would like to see Beams too in place of Polkinghorne, but can't see Voss taking him out.
He's becoming one of the players who deliver 1 out of 5 games, and when he does, doesn't really break out with a high possession game or brilliant goals. Can't remember anything he did on Sunday that was good, his set shot from 35 metres out went out on the full, just get the feeling he's disinterested. Thoughts?

He was pretty busy during the third quarter but seemed to make some critical mistakes that undid a lot of his hard work. From memory he fumbled two opportunities for goal about 15 out and missed the set shot you mentioned. Maybe he's conscious that he needs to be doing more and buckles under his own internal pressure? It might be one of the cases where it would really benefit him to be dropped. Like Leigh said, (paraphrasing here) sometimes you just need to drop them so it stops hanging over the head and the player can reset. I like him and he's popular with Vossy and the playing group but if he doesn't start having a more consistent impact his long term role in the team would surely have to be questioned.

Out of interest, what would everyone see as a pass mark for Polks by end of the year and beyond?

I would like to see a game where his poor disposal doesn't stand out. The rest of the team have improved their skills to the point that Polks' poor delivery is noticeable. It is infair to expect him to impriove his DE to 100% straight away, but by the end of the season I would like to see him doing more good things than bad.

That sounds a bit harsh, but it is realistic I think.

Couldn't really say. Thet are definitely trying to limit his exposure if they can help it just when he is so young. This wouldn't happen to be a SC/DT question would it?
yeah it use the only reason i didnt post in SC/DT thread is because it doesn't ever seem to be used

Anyone reckon Buchanan a chance against his old club? 39 disposals in the reserves definitely wont hurt his chances. I remember that game last year when he came out firing and hurt O'Keefe's shoulder.

Amon no chance. I've liked Bewick, don't understand the calls for him to be dropped, i think he is playing a good role up forward. Not getting a lot of it, but he is operating as a crumbing small forward type. I think he brings nice balance to the forward line. Ash the only out for mine, who to bring in is a hard one, surely Karni has to be close.

Is Patfull fully fit? He seemed to be a bit sore at one point in the game on the weekend.

He was doing a fair bit of stretching after training on Saturday, and then yeah, came off in the second and got his knee strapped up. I think he copped a few knocks to it though too.

I hope he's okay, because he's the best match up for Goodes that we currently have.

If you answer them so nicely, it just encourages them more... :p

Out: McGrath, Bewick, Polkinghorne
In: Kanrezis, Lisle, Beams

Mcgrath will only be out if injured.

Bewick and Polks need to spend a couple of weeks in the reserves to re group.

This. It is as much that the inclusions form in the ressies has made impossible to ignore them than the exclusions do not deserve the places.

Regardless of what Buchanan does in the reserves I seriously doubt he will play another senior game for the club. The only players older than him on the list are Hudson, Black and Brown. Voss has made the decision that we need to plan for the future and whilst these three will not be part of the plans for when we next challenge for a flag they all have important roles to play in the development of the younger players. Buchanan does not have anything to really offer in terms of development or teaching the younger players.

The only way I see him being picked is if he announces he will be retiring.
