So just so I'm clear about what to be outraged about: it's a big deal that the footy is on channel 73 instead of channel 7?

Also it's not about the "oh you can't push a button on the remote". Ratings show that programs that move to the sub channels rate lower than they do on the prime channels, i'm not sure why that it is but it just is (also my grandma can't seem to use anything but the orignal five despite having all the channels) The cricket takes dips when moved to the sub channels of the prime channel. This is the one time out of four we are on primetime FTA and only the second in melbourne, So i'm a little miffed about playing second fiddle to a shitty cooking show.

1. I did not know that Anzac Day Eve was a thing and even after hearing it I'm pretty sure it isn't a thing.

2. MKR rates a lot better than the football does.

3. I do think it is absurd that we are in 2017 and 7mate isn't a HD channel but that is its own issue.

Now I'm a little surprised that the MKR grand final wasn't saved for a non-football night - thereby maximising total viewership - but if they are on the same night then MKR was always going to get top billing.

For the hours I watch FoxFooty with HD, it's worth the money. I'd imagine a lot of footy fans would be the same. Some might not be able to afford it, but really that means they are choosing to spend their money elsewhere. It's all about where you want to spend your spare cash. I had a mate tell me foxtel was too expensive, but he spends $200 a weekend on booze.

People are attached to this notion that channel 7 is more "mainstream" and known than 7mate. When it's probably not. I don't know why the football isn't always on 7mate in Victoria, in HD, with a full, dedicated package, anyway.

I can appreciate Masterchef for the dedication to producing exquisite dishes and the judges always encourage and guide the contestants but MKR is just a massive bitch-fest with unnecessary drama and exhibits the worst in people.

I don't get why 1.2 million people watch that dross.
