They spent a couple minutes on The Offsiders just before talking about how ridiculous it was that the Storm game was not shown live into Melbourne and how the NRL needs to get a TV contract similar to what the AFL has, all games live and in full into every market, be it free to air or pay tv.

Hopefully 9 get a bollocking over the failure to show the game - the AFL game out of Perth was a dud, sports fans would have turned over in droves.

Fremantle v Collingwood was always going to be a dud. I'm sure the Storm game would have rated well enough if it was live.

I much prefer the NRL system of 2 Friday night games. If the one AFL game is a dud, there's no alternative, especially given that we don't get live NRL

But at least a couple pubs in Melbourne are committed to showing Friday night NRL live next year.

I was delighted to hear the Offsiders makes these comments and giving ch.9 a face slap for ignoring Storm/league fans in Melbourne.

Not that Ch.9 weren't aware of all this, as they conveniently deleted literally hundreds and hundreds of posts on this subject on the Ch.9 Wall Face and WWOS Wall on Facebook.

Could you post links to these, I'd be interested to have a look?

I might go out Friday and cheer on the Bunnies. Their game is showing at 7:30.

NB: Channel 7 are showing Collingwood v Geelong live. 1v2, but it's a nothing game.

.

I'd love to but the posts have been deleted as I said previously.
However, below is a comment posted a short time ago on Facebook (obviously can't name the person) that proves what I was saying :

They're obviously too afraid to face criticism now that Channel Nein is now banning people from commenting on their page. I wasn't abusive or inappropriate. You know what I consider abusive and inappropriate? The way Nein treats rugby league fans outside of NSW and Queensland

What are they gonna do if Melbourne have a friday night final? It's a gigantic pain in the ass having to avoid everything to find out the score if you want to watch the game at 12.

Watching the Storm win the prelim against the Broncos in 2009 was a small comfort after the horrors of that day. I would like to have the same opportunity again thanks channel 9.

I meant post links to the Facebook pages, not individual posts.

Week 1 will probably be the Sunday game. Not sure what the chance is of Week 2 or Week 3 being a Friday night.

Channel 9's friday night ratings for re runs of 2 and a half men in Melbourne were 173,000

Storm v Manly would have easily outdone this

If Storm wasn't playing, I would be glued to the telly watching Bombers and Blues. Has the makings of a ripper.
I think most AFL fans will be watching that game. It's the only game of the weekend, bar Geelong-Hawthorn I guess, that I am genuinely interested in watching.

It's more about the rivalry and the hatred than the quality of the game itself.
A lot of people are interested in this game and although I want to be nowhere else at 4pm than AAMI Park, I would certainly have stopped what I was doing to watch it.
Now if you want meh, then look no further than the borathon that will be St Kilda and Sydney.
