I want Charlie Dixon gone from the PAFC as soon as possible. I don’t buy that he’s been good for us at all. It may have had a lot to do with the way we used him, but he’s been a B-grade big forward his entire career, except for one AA year, and even then he couldn’t deliver enough to get us over the line in a prelim final.
More to the point his opposite number for Richmond did!

Agreed, I can cut him some slack for the way he was used, but except for that one AA year the career of Dixon as a forward probably lies somewhere between those of Tex Walker and Jerker Jenkins, and as unpalatable as it would no doubt be for a lot of Port barrackers I suspect most unbiased supporters of other clubs would have Tex winning the outright honours fairly convincingly.

He is more worried about his life after footy instead of being invested while being paid exorbitant amounts of money

And people still think that we should play Dixon ahead of Lord.

Time to invest games into Lord instead of some guy whose leg is hanging by a thread.

He is pretty much cooked. When he does get on the field he can still contribute but the chances of him playing any more than 10 games this year must be very slim. I reckon over the past year he has had about 5 or 6 different injuries.

Regardless his tone and body language is defeatist. If you've put your hand up to get a contract you should be a) fit enough to contribute and b) with the mindset that you can.

Dixon himself isn't the problem. He's an All Australian player and would've been easily the best key forward in 2 of the last 3 premiership teams. The inability of the coaching staff to maximise his value by creating a functioning forward line around him is the problem.

I struggle to believe someone that says (and presumably believes) the things that Dixon says is not part of the problem.

Hmm maybe a few years ago I actually think he's the type a coach like McRae would move on now.

He's just a dumb footballer. The role of the coach is to instill the right attitude into these guys. He would've been a killer under Choco.

He doesn't hate to lose. Williams might have taught him to love winning but it isn't the same thing.
