Andrew Lovett - not a bad player .....he just goes missing when you need him to win you games


Andrew Welsh - Past his used by date slow and useless

Jay Neagle - Can sit in the forward line all game to make the numbers to fat and slow to move to get a kick - send him to fat camp im sure he will come good

Henry Slattery - he will get your free kick count up .....i mean for the other team that is......

Angus Monfries - his good hard trying he will win the gold medal for diving ...i mean TRYING.....pfft

Brent Stanton - Give away who wants someone running around packs looking for the easy ball and getting cheap kicks no thanks

Poor form from someone who claims to be an Essendon fan. You know as well as the rest of us that there is a 0% chance that any of those will be traded.

Adelaide were far, far too good for us tonight, but just reflect on what's been a great season and stop tearing into our own players.
 
Perhaps the OP might want to have a bit more of a positive outlook.

We were beaten by a side that at this point in time is far more suited to finals footy and they duly disposed of us.

Having a crack at the players, especially the likes of Lovett, is a bit narrow-sighted considering the year that they've had. Everyone is entitled to a bad game and its not uncommon for that to be in your first final.

The players will be better for this loss and come rd 1 2010 you will see that I'm right.

What's this? Another Hawthorn supporter becoming a Carlton-like supporter, jumping on any of Essendon's opponents wagon because they can't beat Essendon themselves! :eek:

Quinn is the worst footballer in the competition, there are no doubts about it. He is an experiment project, an international rookie thus he isn't clogging up the list like a Gilham, Taylor or Morton.

Where were you bagging Monfries when he was dominating in the 2nd or 3rd quater of the St Kilda game. Or were you baggin Lovett when he was running through the MCG on Anzac day breaking the lines...what do you want out of these blokes they are a young list!

They pretty much played there first final last week and a belting by Adelaide was always on the cards with players missing and no petrol in the tank.

What would you actually want for Lovett, Stanton, Monfries?

I would say low 2nd round pick...

Even for an Essendon supporter (;)) this is poor form.
 
You guys.. leave the OP alone. He's from Tasmania. Everything is excused now because he's either:
A) Inbred swine
B) Hawks supporter in disguise.
 
I'm honestly surprised the game was so close. :D

Half those guys that the OP mentioned are good young players. Don't put them down just because they weren't up to the Adelaide game. Not many sides are right now. From the teams 5-8 Adelaide is by far the best team. They'll go close to winning the premiership. They pushed Geelong at Skilled Stadium and nobody does that - had it not been for a couple of periods of bad play which allowed Geelong to get a bit of a run on they'd have won there. They have obliterated teams in the race to the finals (including my own).

I hate to defend the much hated Essendon, but as a young team they accomplished something that not many thought possible this year. They were never going to get close last night but the game will provide a base for them in the future. Sure, 96 points is an absolute hiding, but now they know having played a team with a lot of experienced Finals players on it just what is expected of you in a finals series.

Good season, Essendon. Well done on making the finals. That has to be a satisfactory result for your year regardless of the heavy loss last night.
 
Would also take Andrew Welsh in a heartbeat to take Hadley's spot.

Welsh was always going to run out of gas after breaking his ankle this year.

Lovett was nearly traded last year, so I'm not so sure about him staying if Essendon get a good offer.

Carlton has too many Lovetts that only run way.

I'd pass.

A 27 year old isn't worth a second round pick for where we are headed.

Lovett would be a good pick up for the Dogs, Cats and Saints who are contenders and need legspeed.

LOL @ trading Stanton and Monfries.

Neagle is lazy and will only make it at Essendon by busting his gut over the pre-season.

Don't compare him to Fevola who had kicked 26 and 27 goals at 20 and 21 years of age.

Neagle lacks Fevola's tricks and agility at ground level.

His first year teammate Hurley showed him how to lead and present.
