The advantage of doing it now is they can now trade those 2nd round pick.

Either to bring in interesting fringe young talents ie McGuinness rumours

Or trade for some filler points + future a future 2nd and load up on 2nds next season for a points matching trade up opportunity.

Could probably have gotten a better deal waiting but also this is a pretty good outcome

trading back in will cost more than just 1 1st rounder to get a pick around 15/16

Pick #13 will be gone by the time trade period is over
The only team i see as an option would be sydney with #22 or Richmonds 1st pick on the 2nd day

Pretty clear they were advised that there would be. That deal from Dees would likely be taken up by the Suns

And have it cost an extra 600 points if it’s at pick 5.

So essentially got 2 firsts and a 2nd for pick 9 if Kako falls past the saints.

Plus whatever we ontrade pick 28 ect for when we trade it down for points either later this week or draft day.

Well played Dees. Put the fire under the Dons rookie List Manager's feet about bidding on Kako and he has completely folded and given you 9 in a Super Draft.

The Great Man Adrian would never fall for such a trick.

Yep - Hawks in 2024, GWS in 2023 and the Pies in 2022. All got the bottom 6 bounce into finals.

The Pies one really is so misinformed.. sure, a down year but had played finals multiple
Years prior and a fair chunk of that grand final losing side still on the list.
