Josh Carr refusing to answer questions about it on AA, apparently didn't see the incident despite being an assistant coach, thinks we all need to just move on, it's over and done with

So, to sum up:

1. Jones was given a SCAT5 and Aliir wasn't.
What was the difference between the two players in the initial assessment, that justified that?
2. But after having another look at the footage, the doctor says Aliir should have had SCAT5 at the time
What did he see in the second look, that wasn't glaringly obvious in the first look?
3. Jones passed his SCAT5, but then had to be subbed out because migraine.
At which point, Jones spent the rest of the game on the bench, in the light, looking pretty OK for someone with a migraine.

OK, that's all legit. Nothing to see here.

Sam Mayes partner just teed off at the AFL/Port on twitter.

Schulz, Skinner, now Mayes all former Port players who appear to be filthy with the club about this, wonder what else comes out.

AFL’s rug sweeping team has their work cut out for them.

AFL’s rug sweeping team has their work cut out for them.

Cassie Burton, the partner of former Port utility Sam Mayes, said the current spotlight on Port’s concussion situation “doesn’t surprise me” and it made her “sick”.

“Sam’s played concussed after they strapped his head and sent him back on the field,” Burton wrote on Twitter, accompanied with a picture of Mayes’ head bandaged during his AFL career.

“He’s also pulled himself out of the AFL side as he wasn’t feeling right from a separate head knock. It’s scary to witness.”

It is understood Mayes was sent back out on the ground in a SANFL semi-final playing for Port in 2019 after a head knock. He later took himself to the bench because he was feeling unwell.

Mayes later had no recollection of Port’s thrilling four-point victory after the match, which put the club into a grand final.
In 2021, the former Brisbane Lions player was named in Port’s AFL team despite having a head knock playing in the reserves a week earlier.

Leading up to the match, Mayes reluctantly withdrew himself from the team after experiencing concussion symptoms, despite attempting to nail down his spot in the senior side.

Mayes’ AFL career ended at the end of last year following 121 games for the Lions and Port across 10 seasons.

Why do coaches and assistant coaches insult the public’s intelligence by saying they didn’t see something?

Is that really the best these people can come up with?
Same with politicians & other directors in a position of power.

Deny, Deny, deny... despite irrefutable evidence.

Just makes them look untrustworthy.

Admit fault & most will accept you are human rather than a scumbag.

Cheerleaders on AA don't see anything wrong with it. Fine at worst they think and not out of soft cap. People make mistakes
Except its not a mistake is clear that it's a strategy and the port players criticising them publicly are hinting at it
Don't understand why AA don't think this is a big deal. If the panel at the radio station was sparking and they were made to keep operating it at risk of their health would they be upset at their employer?
Im sure that they are a sponsor has nothing to do with it

Another incident that came to mind today involved Ebert in the 2nd Showdown of 2016.

Brad Ebert received a pretty heavy head knock during the game and was down for a while and appeared to be concussed. From memory they eventually got him up to his feet, but he never left the field and just played on.

Then later in the game was the infamous Sloane spoil and Port then screwed us over at the tribunal by saying that they had to concussion test Ebert after the game, but never mentioned that it would have been due to the hit that happened earlier in the game.

Back then I was 100% sure that Ebert had concussion long before the Sloane spoil and Port just allowed to play out the game, he also played again the next week.

Hardly a surprise that 4 years later he had to retire due to ongoing concussion issues.

No one thought to question whether Alliir was actually ok to go back on either after seeing that hit. Well, apart from the 50,000 people not on the Port bench. You can't convince me that they all weren't in on it
Also, surprised the umpires didn't get involved, particularly Razor who stopped play as he saw they were knocked out... or emergency umpire.

There were several incidents like that in his career.

For Josh Carr yep that would be the best he could come up with

How the **** didn’t he see the incident - the ball was in dispute?

This is the same scumbag who had 19 men on the ground in the SANFL Preliminary Final for about 7 mins and knew it.

Sorry, Carr is bullshit artist. Don’t trust him at all. Fits perfectly at Alberton.
