If you listen to what Ryan Fitzpatrick said about Flores yesterday (I posted it in the GM and HC thread) I wouldnt want any part of him in Chicago.

Yes and the relationship with Tua and suing the league etc, but can’t fault his defense in Minny this year and he’s the kind of aggro arse kicker a lot of these players need.
Some of the histrionics from Moore ,Allen and Stephenson among others this year was flat out embarrassing.

Bears are interviewing every man and his dog and fair enough, tbh I think there are plenty on their list that are worse than McCarthy. He gets a bad rap and isnt as bad as a lot of people make him out to be. Wouldnt be my number 1 or anything but id prefer him to just about any defensive coach I think.

Just on this article for one moment … obviously Dennis Allen wasn’t successful as a HC , but thoughts of him as a DC with Johnson ?
The sports media appear to think it’s a great hire , but I’ll confess to not fully following his career prior to the Saints gig

Allen aint no Fangio but he's more than capable and is all about creating takeaways. Not sure what his D rank as DC was during the Saints and how well they did with takeaways....but thats his philosophy

Yeah, hes a fine hire. Tom Brady used to struggle against Allen. Saints had a good DL though to create pressure, something the Bears desperately need to address.

Sounds to me like these wheels have been rollin’ for a while now… which makes me wonder why the interview the entire NFL process was about

Rizz is a very respected STC, would be another good hire. In regards to the big list now the dust has settled, Id say it was coz you genuinely had no idea what you were doing if Johnson turned you down/changed his mind.

Sounds like Allen's previous experience as HC will be a great complement to the younger Johnson. Having said that, every time I've heard BJ speak he sounds commanding. Not in the Dan Campbell way, but in a Shanahan type of way.
