The Scotts are the "powerbands" of the AFL
Everybody wants one but there is no evidence they actually work.

Well North managed to win as many games as Carlton in 2010 with a much less fancied list... hmmm...

Would be an interesting appointment if true, unlucky for Hinkley to miss out on another senior gig.

What does this evidence?

Round 12, 11 June 2010. North Melbourne 14.13: 97 d Carlton 10.8: 68.

Maybe you're right, you could argue it says more about how shit Carlton and Ratten are, rather than evidence that Scott can coach.
Freo beat Carlton twice as well
So Carlton went 0-3 v clubs with a Scott on the coaching panel

Is this the first time twins have coached AFL clubs

Obviously noone really knows if these assistants are any good because most of them just implement what the head coach wants.

Cook, Balme, Costa and co have a history of making good decisions so I assume this will be another good one.

They really should have started trying to trade some of the premiership stars over the age of 26 but thats a lot easier to say when you are just looking in from the outside.

Maybe it's good the players didn't get the coach they wanted. New boss, fresh approach and the players will have to prove themselves all over again.

If the report is true this is probably the reason why the club decided to go with Scott. Take some of the players who have gotten complacent and get the fire lit under there arse's again and get them playing desperate football again

He was not deemed good enough for the Port job. Which surprised media plundits such as Caro and Sheehan at the time. Who, with their broader (non Port) knowledge knew he was the best candidate. I guess they forgot to factor in that Primus had that job all along and the process was a furphy.

Passed up by Port, wins the Geelong job. Better in long run for him if true.
Lol you are so full of shit. Haysman wanted Choco gone for ages. No way he'd get rid of him just to place his assistant the job without thinking about it. Primus simply surprised and won everyone over.

Good luck to Scott, if true. Was tempted to get on him for the job @ 15/1 type odds but everyone said Geelong would stay in house. Odd list to inherit so will be interesting to see what he'll do

good appointment, bucking the trend of recent safe appointments, Voss, Hird and Primus

now hoping the Crows target Sanderson to fill their vacant midfield coach position

If true, congrats to Geelong for a ballsy decision. The safe option would have been either Hinkley or Sanderson. For reasons highlighted by others, may well be an inspired choice if he can put a rocket up some of the established players. Also can't see the playing group having as much control over the coach as they did with Thompson (referring to limited interchange rotations here that Thompson has publicly referred to).

On Hinkley, I think his days of getting a senior birth are over. These days all the young coaches walk in with laptops and powerpoints and I can't see Hinkley being that style of presenter to a board. Not saying there is anything wrong with him...more that board members are sucked in with the new style of presentation savvy coaches.

He might be a SA boy, but he left an assistants gig over there with the Power to come back to Victoria, he is more than happy staying here (in Victoria).

he was happy yesterday, however he may not be so happy today

not to mention, the Crows are not the Power
