I disagree that St. Kilda is the only club that would not need him. He is a genuine superstar and coupled with Hammill in the forward line they would average close to 3 goals between them per game!

I'd seriosuly consider pick 9 and one of say Jason Gram, Leigh Montagna, Lenny Hayes (will not be the same after his injury), Jason Blake or Stephen Milne for Tarrant.

Port Adelaide - Pearce and first 2 picks

You are insane. NONE of your wish lists are remotely connected with reality. If you half any of them, they are still WAY over valuing Tarrant.

I'd be down at Alberton throwing bricks at our trading team if we gave up Pearce OR our first pick for Tarrant, let alone both plus a second round pick.

Idiots quoting Hay and Ottens as precendent, fail to a) realise this draft is stronger and b) the fact the clubs doing those trades have been shown to be r*ped means you (or anyone else) isn't going to get that sort of trade again for a player that isn't an elite KPP that can be relied on (eg. a Scarlett, Rutten, Hall, Tredrea, Fevola, Lloyd), not a hot and cold player like Tarrant.

I'm not going to say he is clearly worth 2 first round picks but you must remember that the hawks got 2 first round picks for Hay. Hay was one of the worst fullbacks in the league in his last season at hawthorn.

Hawthorn got 2 first round picks for Hay, Lonie and their fourth round pick.

We got Hay, second round pick and a third round pick for Motlop and pick 18. Hawthorn did get 2 late first round picks but it was never a scenario of an exchange of two first round picks for Hay. Seriously, how stupid are people?

Hawthorn got good milage out of Hay because it was rushed at the last minute and it was a complex four way trade. In hindsight they got more for him than he was worth but it was more due to the other parties (Melbourne and Port Adelaide) not demanding more from Hawthorn out of that trade.

In essence we got Hay for swapping him for Motlop and converting our pick 18 into a second and third round pick. In the washup, it is not the payout that you think it was.

I saw a Collingwood fan say they wanted Well, Jones and pick 3, didn't I?

I'll give you Jones. And even then I would have to think about it. He had a simmilar year to Tarrant. There are only two players in the comp I would trade pick 3 for, and funnily enough, one of them isn't the glorified HFF that can't kick.

So essentially he is simply stating that they will not give up the farm for him... Big surprise there. Nothing about not pursuing him at all. If anything, he's saying that he would like to pursue him, but doesn't know if they can afford to give up what would be required to get him.

Yes that may be but fowards are meant to KICK goals, not set them up. That is for the midfielders to do.

Is one of the top 3 money earners at the club, played all 24 games yet did not finish in the top 10 in the best and fairest. AFL is like any other business, if you are on top dollar and you don't perform you are in trouble.

Is likely to stay as no other club is likely to take on hs salary.

I don't think some of you understand. The Pies clearly won't trade Tarrant unless they get somehing better the him. Nothing appears available other then maybe D.Bradshaw, if he really wants to leave, or a top 9 pick.

Personally I hope he stays and plays on a wing where his work ethic and goal assists will be appreciated. Needs to work on his defensive skills though.

Eagles are looking monties over the next couple of years given the age of their list, so lets' just draft in young potential.

J.Kelly and 1st Pick for Tarrant and Lonie.

Also considering:
Bartel and second pick for Tarrant and Lonie

I would probably take either of those. I also agree lonie could be a good pick up for the cats as they still have plenty of inside types who could get Lonie the footy. We have to many soft players at the pies and as a result Lonie can be a liability.

However, I doubt the cats would trade bartel
