I sat in a row of all legals that used their phones at some stage and then when a girl from the public in front of me used hers she got told off.Can someone explain how the info gets outside to the live reporters? I thought those in court weren’t allowed any electronic equipment to relay information to those outside. Or am I wrong?
So the girl was an "illegal" then ... lolI sat in a row of all legals that used their phones at some stage and then when a girl from the public in front of me used hers she got told off.
What's wrong with using your phone to review your lippy?I sat in a row of all legals that used their phones at some stage
I'm not holding my breath but would not be surprised if he does disclose her where abouts. The next few weeks are going to be very interesting with lots of new and with held info coming out.My best moment from going in today was not only the guilty outcome but when Barbagallo walked out onto the outside steps she got a well deserved round of applause from all the crowd.
I also heard that Liam Bartlett is doing a 60 minutes segment Sunday night that he’s waiting for a court order to release some info.
Premier Mark McGowen has just asked for Edwards to disclose where Sarah is for her family sake during his press conference as well.
Is any one else really surprised at how condensed and so, quick Hall was with his verdict this morning? I know there is a 600 odd page explanation, but I really expected his court address this morning to be much longer. It was almost over so fast that if you walked away for a moment or blinked it would have been over. I think it just goes to show Hall is very precise in his court. He was chosen for this probably for that reason??
So is it usual for verdicts to be made so quickly, as before most people were suggesting it was foing to take hours?I think they do verdicts at 9:15 as they expect to use the courtroom for the next trial at 10am.
At the real supreme court there was an ongoing trial in the courtroom so Hall had to get it over with quick to allow it to be handed back.

I voted for need more info as I did and still feel the trial only scratched the surface. BUT as we now know Hall had access to quite a bit of 'extra' info that we, the public did not have access to.

The pressure on her would have been immense. She would have seen A LOT more than was presented in court, and her sense of personal responsibility to get justice for the families would have been considerable. She also took on a lot more of the responsibility for court matters than I expected - she barely delegated anything. In the end it really was all on her. She thoroughly deserved that applause. My best moment from going in today was not only the guilty outcome but when Barbagallo walked out onto the outside steps she got a well deserved round of applause from all the crowd.

Absolutely no disrespect meant to Paul Yovich. He did a thorough job with what he had and ensured Edwards got an excellent defence. As the trial unfolded it became clear to me that there wasn’t a heck of a lot he could do to actually dispute the evidence for Ciara and Jane, and the evidence regarding Sarah was limited even without his input. I always felt the most important part of his role was disputing the admissibility of evidence prior to the trial, in which he was successful (although I don’t think there was much chance of it being admissible you still need someone to make the arguments). And I think the other important part of his role will be sentencing. But also consider the efforts of Paul Yovich. If you compare the lineups, it was the prosecution in a 4-3-4 formation vs the defence 2-2-3. Plus the defence second line were very junior lawyers. He did have it relatively easy as he had no burden of proof, but I did see at times he did his duty as an officer of the court and helped get Carmel out of the odd pickle.
Lineups did change though, especially during covid, when the prosecution went to a 2-2-2 formation and defence to 2-2-1
It's the WA Police Commissioner's CK press conference. Starting soon.A lengthy presser is being streamed in here, if you get in on one of your free five clicks leave it open and it will update.
As it happened: Bradley Edwards guilty of Ciara Glennon and Jane Rimmer's murders, not guilty over death of Sarah Spiers
More than two decades after Sarah Spiers, Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon vanished off the streets of Claremont, the fate of their accused killer, Bradley Edwards, will finally be decided today.www.watoday.com.au
Indeed this. Also, fu** all those grief tourists that were there today.
I find this surprising. Majority of people are thinking it and would like to ask him the same thing as they think he is guilty as sin on Spiers, however as the verdict has came back not guilty, I'm surprised that someone like the Premier would actually go this far and make a statement like this.My best moment from going in today was not only the guilty outcome but when Barbagallo walked out onto the outside steps she got a well deserved round of applause from all the crowd.
