AFL Statement
The AFL this week made inquiries into an incident involving North Melbourne Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson during Saturday afternoon’s match in Hobart.

The AFL was made aware of the alleged comments by a match day official post-game who heard the comments, with the AFLIU following up the report.

Clarkson has admitted to loudly swearing and using inappropriate language while standing near the umpires and officials’ bench in response to an umpiring decision during the third quarter.

After talking to match officials, the AFL was not able to be comfortably satisfied that Clarkson’s swearing was directed towards a specific person or persons and in particular an AFL match official or officials and as such no finding of a breach of AFL Rules has been made.

For an organisation that advocates for mental health they sure seem to want to drive Clarko out of the game.

If it were anyone else it wouldn't be a story.
I can't even begin to describe the mental gymnastic you've used to arrive at this conclusion.

Poor Clarko. Can't believe he's got to be responsible for his own behaviour. :(
He swore during a footy game. Who gives a ****?

In the last 24 hours the AFL has changed the way it umpires the game mid season and multiple premiership coaches have questioned the admission that AFL umpires are in communication with other officials during a game but someone swearing after an umpiring decision is somehow more important of newsworthy than that?

I genuinely thought you were smarter than to join in on that sort of rubbish. Obviously got that wrong.

Should we be surprised? Same North fans were defending TT.
Till the full story become public, then we accepted he'd lost the right to play AFL football cos his behaviour was terrible and he turned his nose up at the chance to improve himself.

Your coach defended him in the media afterward.
