It's pretty hard to coach with one hand tied behind your back, especially for a first year coach...I feel for Mitch, he's got a mountainous task.

FFS, how many times does Clarko need to publicly announce that he has no/no intention of coaching any AFL club next year..?

It's one thing to follow specific internal narratives having to flip/flop during a failed coaching succession plan, but entirely another that he would embarrass himself publicly and also defy what would also be a family based decision...

Well, he was just about to finish a 17 year investment and say goodbye to people. Fair enough for mine.

Clarko doesn't owe us anything, he can do anything with his 900k , it's his right but I agree with posters above, his time was up last year , both Clarko and the HFC needed this,. And no , Kennett is not the ONLY reason Clarko won't be our coach next year onwards, there's a fair few with Reeves at the forefront. Right decision was made imo .

He actually mentioned in the hawks/tigers post game presser having a break may help him reignited his passion for coaching.
It was the first time I'd heard him bring that up since it was announced he was not coaching club anymore.

I agree he seems stretched thin and taking a year to evaluate what comes next, on full pay, sounds like a very sensible idea. So let the pies and Carlton pop show pass by and if you still feel the passion have another look in 12 months. By then the Geelong rebuild might be in full swing and need a new custodian (hopefully)!!

I think he was just very emotional moving on from a club he absolutely loves after 17 years. All came from the heart. Whately said as much afterwards on SEN. Can’t compare at all with Sheeds who lost the plot.
