Kennett from his regular "A word from your President"
"Regardless, we thank Alastair, his wife Caryn and their children Stephanie, Georgia and Matthew for the service they have rendered the club over the last 17 years. We wish Alastair well for whatever he decides to do in the future. But like John Kennedy Snr and Alan Joyce, he and his family will always be welcome at our club and our functions."

But not Allan Jeans' family nor David Parkin and his family or any other former coach (and their families) for that matter???

Does he really need to include every single coach we've ever had in his letter?

Not many didn't improve.

This line bears repeating.
This year was always going to be about player development, and it's exceeded my expectations by a huge margin.
I've loved Sam's work at Box Hill this year, but the growth of so many players on the AFL stage, under Clarko, has been immense.
I started the year with a list of players I'd like us to move on that was as long as my arm. It's now as long as my hand, and I'm umming and aahing about most of those, given some of the football they've played, under Clarko.
Living legend.

Don Scott didn't get a mention either ... bugger!

Didn't say he should've, but why only pick out 2 former coaches? Just point out that he and his family are welcome back at the club without making reference to anyone else. I wouldn't be alone here in thinking this, but Kennett doesn't tend to think before he speaks (or hits 'send' on his emails).

I just interpreted it to mean from our most recognised coach to our (probably) least known coach, and everyone in between

Could be completely wrong of course

From the Carlton board - jury is out whether this is a statement of desire or actual knowledge...? Me thinks it's more on the vibe side of reality...
Do not quote from other club boards.

Yep. More like Jeff being Jeff and being all random and stuff.

and any coach that hasn't won a flag, can piss right off. Sorry Schwabby and Knightsy, you're not welcome :)

Hope this is true. Would be prepared to waste the soft cap rather then him coach Carlton or Collingwood!
Still coach one of them, will just be a year later...
I'm rooting for Clarko to take the Blues job and get some soft cap space to make something of Mitch's first year at the helm... He will need all the help he can get. It's pretty hard to coach with one hand tied behind your back, especially for a first year coach...I feel for Mitch, he's got a mountainous task.
