Lethal made more sense than Caro who ultimately heavily qualified her assertion that he “may” end up at Carlton. Footy shows have to talk about something but I expect Clarko will stay unless the Hawthorn board decides otherwise. And, to quote Sir Humphrey Appleby that would be a “brave” decision.

To paraphrase him “coaches of Vic AFL teams do not get poached by other Vic clubs”. Generally only move interstate eg Lyon or get sacked by their club.
Better to listen to the discussion to understand the context of their discussion.

I made the mistake of listening to this garbage. It was not a ‘frank’ review at all. I was hoping to hear them give their honest opinion of what was so attractive at other clubs (Collingwood & Carlton), that is both player list & club management, to persuade AC to leave Hawks.
A waste of 6mins of my time today.

Lethal was as informative as Caro
Both bought nothing to the conversation other than they think there’s too much love for Clarko and let’s look at how good Longmire is (while ignoring the advantages of academy)
What I got out of that was Lethal sounded pissy and Caro is just suggesting Clarko should move on

I thought it was a good listen as lethal basically sat Caro on her ass about her ongoing statement that Clarko wont be at Hawthorn next year.
I also liked Lethal saying that Hawthorn have been terrible for about 12 weeks yet after one win the word genius starts to come out again about him. Was good as it puts heat on Clarkos performance this year in the coaches box.

I agree that the talk about "Clarko being a genius" is always over the top considering we've been pretty poor this year and last. However the media are now making out that it's been driven by Clarko and us, when it's a majority of the media who do it, basing it on their assumption that our list is hopeless and not good enough to even win one game. Barrett and Caro even had the nerve over the weekend to suggest Clarko plays it up to the media... spare me!!

I'm going the other way- Bucks is out of Collingwood as we've signed him as a Clarko assistant from 2022 onwards...

He likes Clarko but gets annoyed that it's always him getting praised and never the players

Your take on Lethal rings true for me.
I have a vague but persistent memory of Lethal being asked during a broadcast about the best coach in the AFL, when Clarko's Hawks had won 2, possibly 3 premierships (including the Fremantle GF triumph) and Lethal nominated Ross Lyon.
Ross Lyon FFS. Clarko had the hawks playing awesome attacking, skillful football, and he nominated Defense 1st Ross Lyon - in fact, defense 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th ... Ross Lyon. I remember being pissed about it and complaining to mates who have a similar dislike of Ross the Toss.
I also remember thinking gee, Lethal really doesn't want to give praise to Clarko.
I still get that impression.
Which bugs me coming from a Hawk Legend.
Meanwhile back at the ranch Clarko, along with a cadre of methodical co-conspirators, quietly scheme and contrive the return of the elusive cup in 2024, ish.
That was my take from that 'frank' review by Lethal and Caro.
Ive always thought Clarkson does his best work when everyone thinks we can't or are the underdogs and loves to prove people wrong. The bloke loves winning and his the best coach I have seen go through multiple rebuilds whilst getting the best out of everyone around him. So for lethal and anyone else in the media to still be negative against the future, just helps create the us against them mentality that he thrives on.

Lethal never has positive things to say about Hawthorn. Similar to Don Scott.
A caller into 3AW has just sighted Clarko having coffee with Pies powerbrokers in Korda and Licka. Might be BS, but very interesting. I would be amazed if Clarko is not Hawks coach next year.
Looking forward to the photos considering everyone has a camera on their phone these days.
Other aspirants need not apply - leaving Rob Harvey with the poison chalice.
