Immense Sam Walsh disrespect.
Walsh is incredible, I rate him as highly as those blokes but he’s 2-3 years older than them. Worpa has had a 30 vote brownlow season, he’s our 2nd best player to Charlie but he doesn’t have as much currency those younger midfielders I mentioned.

Bulldogs would be the obvious landing spot. Give Bont some much needed assistance.

It also gives Melbourne a huge draft hand to go and get Harley Reid, which they have long been rumoured to want.

Bulldogs Give: Pick 10, Pick 17, 2024 First round pick WB
Bulldogs Get: Clayton Oliver

Melbourne Give: Clayton Oliver, Pick 5
Melbourne Get: Pick 1, 2024 First round pick WB

West Coast Give: Pick 1
West Coast Get: Pick 5, Pick 10, Pick 17

Wait, we're giving up Oliver for a four pick upgrade? In what world does that make a modicum of sense?

Lose Clayton Oliver to go up from 5 to 1 in what is still speculation of draft talent is a terrible deal for the Demons

No chance. They have a heap of guys coming out of contract next year.
Naughton, English and JUH to name a few.

I mean s**t, what would the Dees want?

Can imagine he’d cost a king’s ransom, if he’s even available

Disagree, if the Dees are prepared to part with a player of that ilk there has to be a very good reason for doing so even if that reason isn't known yet.

It's either an injury issue or something unsavoury that has gone on behind the scenes, it will bubble to the surface soon enough and a number of clubs will then reconsider their interest in securing him.

If there is a "red flag", his trade price will drop significantly.

Probably because we played better with him out.

Let’s not start unsubstantiated rumours now…

Oliver would arguably be Carlton's 4th best mid behind Walsh, Cerra & Cripps.

Midfielders are dime a dozen.. but key forwards are the rarest commodity in football.

There's only two coleman medal winning key forwards still in their prime in the entire AFL system.

Fortunately they both play for Carlton
But finals failures.
