Recommitted Clayton Oliver [UFA 2030] - clubs are interested, Melbourne willing for the right price

Not a chance. Shiel is a ball butcher and exactly what our midfield mix doesn't need. Jake might not even make it thru the first preseason, rocking up out of shape. To top it off, both well onto the downside of their careers. Will only get worse from here.
H.Reid and A.Perkins would be the more major parts of the trade certainly in Reids case

Shiel and Stringer are there for 2-3years who add to what you dont have in this time

Ready to go explosive midfielders/midfield depth

Goal kicking ability

Yeah, and wed be giving up Oliver , pick 6 and 14 for the privilege. In what world.

"It is unclear if he would be open to any move and there has been absolutely no indication that Melbourne would be willing to part with him either"

World class hedging

Crows in box seat, with McAdam going there we're already 3/4 done. Just throw in the Doedee compo and we're there. Plus we'll have the Elliott Himmelberg pick from GWS. Probably won't need it, but nice to have in case they try and play hard ball.

Unless he is doing a mock draft and making a selection for Sydney.
The phantom draft is ultimately guesswork, but his accuracy is still impressive. I think we can trust what he hears from clubs. There is an impression that either Oliver or Melbourne is listening to offers.

This is pretty much pub talk at this point.

We all know they are desperate for trade stories given how crappy a trade period it is looking like being.

Just gutter trash journalism which no journalist is ever held accountable for. I wonder why they don't fear making up trash?

The best part is they can just say it was on twitter posted by someone claiming to be somebody in the know (their burner account)

Would be an unusual target for the media, even if they were spitballing.

Someone like Butters would’ve been a lower hanging fruit.

“Wants to move home, OOC soon” ect

Or they could point to the Trade thread on Melbourne board here where they were discussing/arguing about it at some length last week

Self fulfilling prophesy?

No, hence the use of the word "would".

What is pretty clear though, is that something has happened, or clubs presume that something has happened between Oliver and MFC. Won't find many instances where Twomey is wrong.
You only ask why when its occurred, it hasnt

And really at the end of the day every player has their price

If Collingwood offered their best 15 for W.Day, Lewis and Newcombe your saying Yes
