A year without you Clinton. How did the greater football world make it through season 2008 without you. Your commentary was like snow rain drops falling softly on to the fresh earth. You were an inspiration to us all and we miss you dearly.

I miss your banter on Foxtel and your time at 3AW was simply stunning.

I miss you Clinton, when you left our lives my enjoyment of football lessened, no longer would I hear your sweet rain drop voice.

I will have a beer for you mate, becasue thats what you were, a mate, you came into my life every day and spoke to me about football like any mate would, and I miss it.

RIP good soul, your time was too short and I will ensure your memory lives on. I want you memeory to inspire others to pursue sports broadcasting and if this post in this thread helps with that, I via you have done my job.

I miss the great mans commentary and his way of hosting a pre-game or a show. He just had that way of capturing the moment perfectly, or of knowing when to move on and when to stick with a topic, when to cut a caller off or when to let them have their say and the discussion run. I use to listen to 3AW's pre-game from 12-2 online when I was living in Brisbane no matter who was playing that day.

Watching a couple of those clips from youtube you'd like to think that todays professional journos/hosts would learn the timing that he had, and the essence of knowing that louder is not always better.

I think enough time has passed - and I'd like some answers. You can't tell me that in this day and age a 'healthy' man can just drop dead in his apartment and nobody know why. At least they must have it down to 2 things.

Agree. It would be wrong to publicly speculate as we have no idea. But it's hard to not internally speculate the worst - that's human nature.
