Not out to tarnish his reputation in any way,

The BBQ/Party the day before, what happened there? Was he on a 2 day bender?? blah blah blah...

Suggesting he was a drug addict or alcoholic

Not tarnishing his reputation at all.

The fact of the matter is, we can speculate all we want, but all we know is the facts that have been given to us, and untill otherwise, they are FACTS.

The quote you used was a sarcastic line of questioning that was used to TARNISH Mainy's reputation. (I know, I know this is not about Mainwaring) And anyway, I myself don't see drugs as tarnishing a reputation.

And the FACTS. Which one? He fell off a ladder? He was sleep walking? or that the police found no visible signs of injury. Food Allergy? Parents dismissed that one. A few colleagues seemed to go out of their way to make accidental stories. Pity they weren't on the same page. These are what made it a more questionable death in my laymans eyes. Maybe journo's just take the FACTS as given to them. (The media's description of Barassi's assault and the subsequent footage really matched up:rolleyes:) And keeping the findings under wraps perpetuates it.

And what IF it was drugs. Would you want to know then? What style of death is deemed private and which one is deemed front page? It would definately make life interesting for the 20 or so media 'personalities' that were with him the day before.:D

ok all my points made.:thumbsu: Again, not having a go at Clinton, and I actually think the cover up or lack of questioning relates to 'friends and colleagues' covering their own butts rather than protecting Clinton.

I remember putting it on Channel 9 news that day and hearing the words 'Clinton Grybas Dead'

Was in complete shock

RIP Clinton :(

Yeah I was watching the Sydney Test match and it came on in a news update, I was stunned too.

It's 2 years ago today that Clinton Grybas sadly passed away.

Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends for today.

And Australian Football lost a great Radio and Television commentator.

Too young.

RIP Clinton.

I still think of Grybas when I'm stuck listening to a commentator who puts me to sleep or one who doesn't know the first thing about players outside of Victoria.

He was a big loss to football.

The thing that put him above the rest was his knowledge of the game. He knew almost all you could about football

I found that he worked very well off Rex Hunt as a caller. The extravagent caller, and the true professional was a deadly combo that had 3aw at the top of the ratings for some time.

If only Clinton had the chance to call with Brian Taylor, who i think does a better job as the "extravagent entertainter", we would have no doubt seen one of the most partnership of commentating ever

i remembered that day

i was enjoying the cricket

and then when the news came through it totally ruined my day, it felt like a low blow to the stomach. and i didnt give a damn what was going on in the game anymore
